Commission Meeting

August 7, 2024 A regular meeting of the Board of City Commissioners was held on August 7, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. at the City Meeting Room. Present Commissioners John Clausen, Bernell Hedstrom, Lisa Hedstrom, Jim Schacher and President LeeAnn Domonoske-Kellar. Motion made by Clausen and seconded by L. Hedstrom to approve the minutes from the July 17, 2024 meeting as presented. All present voted aye, motion carried. Motion made by Schacher and seconded by B. Hedstrom to approve the agenda with the addition of Calvin Berg under old business and Building Permits under new business. All present voted aye, motion carried. Motion made by L. Hedstrom and seconded by Schacher to approve the 2025 preliminary budget as presented. All present voted aye, motion carried. The final budget hearing was set for October 2, 2024 at 6:30. Calvin Berg was present and general discussion was held about his building permit. Motion made by Schacher and seconded by B. Hedstrom to approve the Wilton Park Boards request to cut the curb at the south park to create another entrance. All present voted aye, motion carried. Motion made Schacher and seconded by Clausen to approve the Wilton Park Boards request close the east end of Dakota Avenue on June 21, 2025 for a live band. All present voted aye, motion carried. Motion made by Clausen and seconded by Hedstrom to approve the gaming application for the American Legion Auxiliary to conduct a raffle on September 9, 2024 and for the First Presbyterian Church to conduct a raffle on September 14, 2024. All present voted aye, motion carried. General discussion was held about the school building project and required permits and inspections. Motion made by Clausen and seconded by Schacher to pay bills as presented. Roll call vote. Aye: Comm. Clausen, B. Hedstrom, L. Hedstrom and Pres. Domonoske-Kellar. Absent: Comm. Schacher. Motion carried. With no other items for discussion Pres.
