Commission Meeting

April 16, 2025 Unofficial Minutes A regular meeting of the Board of City Commissioners was held on April 16, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the City Meeting Room. Present Commissioners John Clausen, Bernell Hedstrom, Lisa Hedstrom, and Pres. LeeAnn Domonoske-Kellar. Motion made by L. Hedstrom and seconded by Clausen to approve the meeting minutes from April 2, 2025 as presented. All present voted aye, motion carried. Motion made by Clausen and seconded by B. Hedstrom to approve the agenda as presented. All present voted aye, motion carried. The City received letters of interest from Mike Schmit, Tim Smallbek and Jim Tooke for the vacant commission position with a term ending in June 2026. Motion made by B. Hedstrom and seconded by Clausen to appoint Mike Schmit to the vacant commission position. All present voted aye, motion carried. Schmit accepted Pres. Domonoske-Kellars invitation to join the Commission effective immediately. Motion made by B. Hedstrom and seconded by Clausen to approve the second reading and final passage of the amendment to ordinance 4.0404 – Storage of Flammable Liquids as presented. All present voted aye, motion carried. Motion made by Clausen and seconded by L. Hedstrom to approve the American Legions gaming site authorization for the County Line Café, Aces Tavern and Sportsmen Bar and Grill for July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026 as presented. All present voted aye, motion carried. Motion made by L. Hedstrom and seconded by Schmidt to approve the commercial building application from Duane Johnson to construct storage units at 308 7th Street North as presented. All present voted aye, motion carried. The Planning and Zoning Board approved the application on April 7, 2025. Motion made by Clausen and seconded by B. Hedstrom to pay bills as presented.
