Approval: Extension of Interim City Manager Agreement with Ray Coffey – S. Leonard V. Adjourn MINUTES The meeting was called to order by the Mayor at 5:30pm. The meeting began with the pledge of allegiance led by Deputy Mayor Brian Corrigan. Members Present: Mayor Seth Leonard Councilors: Brian Corrigan, Brian Sweeney, Nicole Mace, Robert Millar Officers Present: Ray Coffey, Interim City Manager; Angela Aldieri, Assistant City Clerk; Heather Carrington, Community and Economic Development Director; John Audy, Code Enforcement Director; Others Present: Jessie Baker; III. Approval: Ratification of City Manager Contract with Jessie Baker – S. Leonard Mayor Leonard began by expressing his pride in the community for the hiring process that was thorough and public with all voices being brought to the table. He noted that this appointment is one of the most important things the Council does as the City Manager provides oversight for the entire City. He went on to recognize the efforts of staff, especially Mr. Coffey, in the interim and expressed excitement regarding working with Ms. Baker soon. Ms. Baker stated that the extensive process gave her a chance to determine if this was a good fit for her as an employee. She echoed the excitement expressed by the Mayor and stated that she looks forward to meeting and exceeding the high expectations for her. It was announced that a press release regarding the agreement would be released tomorrow. Deputy Mayor Corrigan thanked Mayor Leonard and Councilor Millar for their time on the interview committee. Councilor Millar cited the involvement of community volunteers who supported the process. MOTION by Councilor Millar, seconded by Councilor Sweeney to approve the ratification of the City Manager Contract with Jessie Baker as presented with authorization for Mayor Leonard to sign. Voted and passed 5-0. b. Approval: Extension of Interim City Manager Agreement with Ray Coffey – S. Leonard Mayor Leonard noted that the extension of the interim City Manager role includes some built in flexibility for the transition period. Mr. Coffey expressed appreciation for the faith Council has shown him and noted the support provided in his time as interim from staff. He expressed excitement to work with Ms. Baker moving forward. Ms. Carrington expressed that Mr. Coffey has been dedicated, professional, and gracious while setting a positive tone for staff. She stated that he has been a leader in the truest sense. MOTION by Deputy Mayor Corrigan, seconded by Councilor Millar to approve the extension of the Interim City Manager agreement with Ray Coffey as presented. Voted and passed 4-0. V. Adjourn MOTION by Councilor Millar, seconded by Councilor Sweeney to adjourn the City Council meeting at 5:41pm. Voted and passed 4-0.
