Friday is Paint and Sip lemonade for kids. Story walk was super fun and received postcards. l School Library Commissioners meeting – goals for next year and pitched the youth committee member position. l Planning for summer reading. Also have gifts to raffle off for kids (Ben and Jerry coupons). l Monthly stats – slight down from previous month. Comparing to last year – stats are way up. Great growth. l Staffing – tumultuous. May have l Monthly stats – slight down from previous month. Comparing to last year – stats are way up. Great growth. l Staffing – tumultuous. Sub Paula – last day is soon (found another job), another person is leaving… Donna returns soon. Sub Caroline will be filling in on Fridays through the end of June. Teen position is open and that person would work until the end of June. July 1 st (new fiscal year begins) – staffing will be 2.25 FTE (Nate, Kirstin, and Donna). May have to cut hours or shut down the library occasionally when staff is not available. Nate will track all closures and impact to the community and try to create a sense of urgency within the City Council regarding the lack of funding which was lost (approx. 14 hours of work). l Grants – awaiting for the state to open the grant opportunity. To apply for building project for 2M. VI. Building Updates Champlain Housing Trust - library is being prioritized in this plan. Very supportive re: city services here. Great partnership. Option A – envisioned UVM moving out. They are not moving out so ignore Option A. Option B – smallest footprint for the library, adds only a small amount of SQ FT. New gym build in the basement. Not too many people are a fan of because Library is not big enough. Option C – 6900 SQ FT for the library. This is the preferred option. Affordability is a concern – the city can afford ~$100K in rent a year for city services to include the gym, the library, etc. That equates to 8,655 SQ, which means something must go. CHT is charging us $12 per sq ft. a good deal. VII. Youth Committee Member Recruitment Started recruitment, posted on social media, shared with School Library Commissioner, shared with Director of Communications at WHS to advertise, Winooski Newsletter. Circulate amongst your community. No end date targeted, until position is filled. VIII. Other Business None IX. Adjourn Motion to Adjourn: Lauren, Second by Collette
