TOWN OF WINTHROP BOARD OF LICENSE COMMISSION MEETING VIRTUAL MEETING DATE: Monday – May 18, 2020 Start Time: 7:02p Adjournment Time: 7:40p PRESENT Joe Clark Richard Ackerman Ron Vecchia Nick Bracy Marc Chapdelaine Denise Quist Lieutenant Steve Rogers PREVIOUS MONTHS MINUTES March – Meeting minutes approved unanimously Stamp signatures will be used by members of the Board until further notice COMMON VICTUALLER’S LICENSES Name: Lotus Market Address: 19 Somerset Ave. Winthrop Ma, 02152 Present: Samantha Bracy Notes: Nick Bracy recused from vote. Ms. Bracy reviewed plan with committee. Primarily smoothies and smoothie bowls. Until further notice, Lotus Market will be a takeout business. In time, Ms. Bracy hopes to add more options including juices, baked goods, and wellness retail. Hours will begin with weekends only because of COVID. License hours will be tues-fri from 8-4, sat/sun 7-4p. 8 seats including access to a patio outside that can be accessed as a communal shared space. Approval: Motion approved unanimously. REVIEW AND SIGN NEW/RENEWAL TAXI LICENSES Name: Café Delite Address: 82 Jefferson St Boston Ma, 02118 Present: NA Notes: Board reviewed the outdoor seating plan. The plan seems to be the same as in previous years. The board recommends reviewing the COVID regulations set forth by the state. Approval: Motion approved unanimously. OLD BUSINESS  Seeking updates on the handbook revisions – Denise confirmed this committee will get an update based on the feedback the committee has provided  Confirming with Denise on when term limits are for this committee. Denise confirmed the dates on the Town website  Asking the group to get the ethics training completed before the next meeting. Marc will send the link out again to the group  Go-Go on the ocean to respond to Denise on plans for outside seating before opening Discussion  The Town is asking this board to reach out to Massport to stop their Sunrise Shuttle as it. Motion to table was approved by the Board unanimously.  Denise brought up the ability to help organizations with outside seating if restaurants currently don’t have it specific to COVID.
