Stamp signatures will be used by members of the Board until further notice REQUEST FOR OUTDOOR SEATING - looking for a framework for Food & Beverage (F&B) businesses in the town to invest in outdoor seating to support business. The Board has committed to take any application for review in support of keeping businesses open and active. Pete Christoher from the Town Council spoke about a possible ordinance for 2020 to answer the challenges F&B businesses have/will face relating to COVID. Name: La Siesta Address: 70 Woodside Ave. Winthrop Ma, 02152 Present: NA Notes: Seeking more information on the design – Approval: Motion to table for next meeting pending further information from La Siesta. Specifically, the boards asks to provide further information on the following; get table count, table size, and distancing along with proof of insurance and portable toilets (or further guidance governors order on restrooms inside an establishment) PUBLIC COMMENTS Julia Wallerce asked, “does this apply to oudoor dining on sidewalks only or does it extend to streets as well?” Mr. Christopher answered - this ordinance would give deference to this Licensing Board to make those decisions. Julia Wallerce noted that we are in an unprecedented times and we (as a committee) need to look at open ideas “out of the box” and include not only sidewalks and parking lots, but also streets. Julia Wallerce asked, is there a possibility within the ordinance to give street space only for take-out? Picnic tables in parking spaces, etc. RESPONSE – the only issue the board has is who will take responsibility for the area including disinfecting/trash cleanup. There would be more willingness to entertain the idea if a group of F&B organizations are willing to partner and have Motion to approve content of the ordinance by Marc Chapdelaine with note that any comments made to Peter Christpher by 12p on 6/2. Motion passes 5/0
