Plan Commission Meeting

Box A * Withee, Wisconsin 54498 PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING The Village of Withee Planning Commission met on October 4, 2023, at 7 p.m. in the Municipal Building, Conference Room. Chairperson Pawlukiewicz called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Roll call was answered by Everett Lindgren, Kevin Thorson, Pat Esker, Randy Shelton, Terry Pawlukiewicz and Derek Schad. Absent was Lynn VanWinkle. Village Clerk Niemi recorded the minutes. The plan commission was called to consider the sale of Village owned parcel 191.0171.000 to Josh Prohaska, owner of the O-W Pharmacy. The lot is where the original bank (and then Withee Library) used to be and had been used as a parking lot once the building was torn down. The Village of Withee board discussed at their September 11, 2023, regular meeting that they did not want to maintain the lot and to offer it to both adjoining businesses for the cost of the Village attorney’s fees to file the quit claim deed and the surveying costs. Clerk Niemi contacted both Dawn Burkhardt, owner of Midway Bar, and Josh Prohaska, owner of the O-W Pharmacy. Only Josh Prohaska of the O-W Pharmacy expressed interest in purchasing. Since the parcel isn’t being split, a survey isn’t required. Prohaska had indicated to Clerk Niemi that he plans to continue using the parcel as a parking lot. During the meeting, Prohaska could have been phoned for any questions, but there were none. The Village assessor put an approximate value on the parcel between $4,000 to $6,000 being taxed about $120 - $140 annually. With the small size of the lot and close proximity to adjoining businesses, it would be difficult to sell the lot to anyone for a new building. A Lindgren/Thorson motion to recommend to the Village Board to sell Village owned parcel 191.0171.000 to Josh Prohaska, owner of the O-W Pharmacy, for the costs of the Village attorney’s fees to file the quit claim deed carried with all ayes.
