Box A * Withee, Wisconsin 54498 The Withee Village Board met on November 7, 2022, in the Municipal Building, Conference Room, for a Budget Meeting. ROLL CALL President Lindgren called the meeting to order at 6 pm. Roll call was answered by Trustees Lindgren, Shelton, Gehrke, Kalepp, and Frankewicz. Clerk Niemi recorded the meeting. Also present were Cindy Cardinal, Nicole Rogers, and DPW Troy Hatlestad. HEALTH INSURANCE FOR FULL-TIME VILLAGE EMPLOYEES Clerk Niemi presented the renewal from Security Health Plan which came in at a 20.9% increase. There was an 6% increase originally included in the proposed budget, so the numbers were amended for the 20.9% increase. The insurance agent provided an option of the same plan but with a $6,000 family deductible which would save the village $3,477.72. Another agent with a different company gave a quote which saved even more but Clerk Niemi is unable to reach him. A Gehrke/Frankewicz motion to renew with Security Health Plan with option H02025X2-UMB-T which has a $6,000 family deductible for the monthly premium of $3,598.67 for the two full-time employees, applying the savings toward the employees’ deductible, unless the other agent comes through with the comparable plan with significant savings carried with all ayes. REVIEW CHANGES TO THE 2023 BUDGET The board reviewed all the changes that were proposed from the first budget meeting which included the changes due to increasing the amount for health insurance, increase in employees’ wages, and adding the extra amount for the police department. All these changes resulted in a balanced budget for 2023. It was noted that going with the slightly cheaper insurance would change the budget a small amount. The police amount changed since the November 1, 2022, police meeting as the City of Owen figured in utilities and workmen’s comp insurance. A Shelton/Kalepp motion to approve the reviewed changes carried with all ayes. APPROVAL OF PROPOSED 2023 BUDGET A Gehrke/Frankewicz motion to approve the proposed tentative 2023 budget as presented carried with all ayes. A Kalepp/Gehrke motion to set the next budget meeting if needed for Friday, November 11, 2022, at 1 pm if the other insurance agent presents the cheaper plan, otherwise will renew with Security Health Plan with option H02025X2-UMB-T which has a $6,000 family deductible for the monthly premium as previously motioned carried with all ayes.
