City of Woodbury Parks and Recreation Department Parks and Natural Resources Commission Memorandum 23 – 23 July 11, 2023 Parks and Natural Resources Commission Members: Subject: Environmental Stewardship Plan Kick-off Meeting with the Commission Community Survey At the June 6, 2023, Parks and Natural Resources Commission (PNRC) meeting, paleBLUEdot, the consultant selected to develop the city’s Environmental Stewardship Plan (ESP), provided commissioners with preliminary information on a community survey that would be developed to collect community input. As described by paleBLUEdot, the intent of the questionnaire is to: Collect broad input from community members to help shape the Environmental Stewardship Plan. Ideally, the questions posed, and the structure of response options should help the planning effort and illustrate the level of support for topic sectors or aspects of the final Environmental Stewardship Plan. Following the meeting, commissioners were provided with a link to a Google Doc to provide individual input on their goals for the public questionnaire and what outcomes, topics, and questions should be considered for the document. The staff Project Management Team (PMT) was provided a similar opportunity to provide input. At this time, the questionnaire is being developed and finalized. The final public questionnaire will be available in the upcoming weeks and will be widely promoted to encourage as much public input as possible. At the July PNRC meeting, Ted Redmond from paleBLUEdot will provide information to commissioners and request feedback on the following topics: • Overall project schedule • Timing for the questionnaire release • ESP Plan Sub-Teams – number of commissioners, other participants from the community, responsibilities, meetings, and timing • Community engagement overview and meetings Respectfully submitted, /s/ Jennifer McLoughlin Environmental Resources Manager PNRC Workshop Meeting Woodland Dr. Ojibway Park Building 2695 Ojibway Drive Tuesday, July 11, 2023 7:00 p.m. Driving directions from City Hall. • Valley Creek Rd.
