AI Public Arts Advisory Board c' Ty ( F. Minutes WYLI E Regular Meetingg July 14, 2022— 6: 00 p. m. Council Chambers 300 Country Club Road, Bldg. 100 Wylie, TX 75098 CALL TO ORDER Announce the presence of a Quorum. The meeting was called to order by Vice Chair Steve Shank at 6: 10 pm. Members present included: John Treadwell, Esther Bellah, Joseph Murdock, Minerva Bediako ( arrived 6: 20) and Anita Jones. Board member and Christina Null was absent. PAAB Coordinator Carole Ehrlich was also in attendance. CITIZENS COMMENTS ON NON- AGENDA ITEMS Residents may address the Board regarding an item that is not listed on the Agenda. Residents must fill out a non- agendaform prior to the meeting in order to speak. The Board requests that comments be limited to three( 3) minutes. In addition, the Board is not allowed to converse, deliberate, or take action on any matter presented during citizen participation. No citizens were present to address the board. DISCUSSION ITEMS 1. Discussion regarding the 2022 Bluegrass on Ballard Event Board Discussion PAC Ehrlich reported that the event grossed$ 17, 800 to be used for public art. She stated that the event went well with some leaving early due to the hot temperatures. 2. Discussion regarding the Wylie Municipal Complex Walking Trails Art Project Board Discussion PAC Ehrlich reported the selection panel had reviewed over 76 applications and narrowed the submissions to three semi- final artists with approval tonight by the PAAB. They include Eileen Gay, Madeline Weiner and Katy Antill. She stated that they would be coming to the city July 20, 2022 to tour the town, previous installed art and to attend a public input meeting. She asked all members to be present at the input meeting to discuss the art for the entry to the walking trails. Minutes May 19„ 2022 Public Arts Advisory Board Page 1 3. Discussion and update regarding the 2022 Wylie Arts Festival Board Discussion PAC Ehrlich reported there were already over 80 applications for the festival. She asked for volunteers to serve on the vendor review panel. Esther Bellah, Steve Shank and Minerva Bediako volunteered to serve on the panel with John Treadwell as an alternate. The panel will meet sometime in September to review applications. REGULAR AGENDA 1. Consider and act upon the minutes from May 19, 2022. ( C Ehrlich, Public Arts Advisory Board Coordinator) Board Action A motion was made by board member Treadwell, seconded by board member Bellah to approve the Public Arts Advisory Board minutes from May 19, 2022 as presented. A vote was taken and the motion passed 6- 0 with board member Null absent. 2. Consider and act upon, the Selection Panel recommendations of artists Madeline Wiener, Eileen Gay, and Kathryn Antill as the semi- final artists to propose for the Municipal Complex Walking Trails Entry site. ( C. Ehrlich, Public Arts Advisory Board Coordinator) Board Discussion PAC Ehrlich reported the selection panel had selected and recommended the three semi- final artists for the walking trails entry art. She asked the board to approve their recommendations or discuss and chose other artists. Board Action A motion was made by board member Jones, seconded by board member Treadwell to approve the semi- final artists as Kathryn Antill, Eileen Gay, and Madeline Wiener. A vote was taken and the motion passed 6- 0 with board member Null absent. 3. Consider and act upon, a new chair for the Public Arts Advisory Board to serve a one year term. Board Action A motion was made by board member Jones, seconded by board member Treadwell to appoint Steve Shank as chair for a one year term. A vote was taken and the motion passed 6- 0 with board member Null absent. 4. Consider and act upon, a new vice chair for the Public Arts Advisory Board to serve a one year term. A vote was taken and the motion passed 6- 0 with board member Null absent. ADJOURNMENT Board Action A motion was made by board member Treadwell, seconded by board member Bellah to adjourn the meeting: at 7: 24 p. m.
