The City of Yukon Park Board met for their regular meeting on Wednesday, January 15,
2020, 6:00 p.m. at the Huckaba Bldg., 532 W. Main, Yukon, OK.
Roll Call: (Present) Joe Edwards, Chairman
Joe Baumann, Vice Chairman
Stephen Nelson
Jason Hammett
Member Absent: Cathy Wright
Others Present: Jan Scott, Quincy Rinkle and Andrea Griffin
Visitor Present: Shelli Selby
Visitor Business: Shelli Selby stated she’s had quite a few residents inquire about building a
Yukon Dog Park, where would it be best utilized, cared for. She also asked how the lighting
schedule was at the tennis courts and if there were new nets in the near future. Quincy Rinkle
stated that the tennis courts lights are on a timer and he has ordered new nets for the courts,
they will be installed as soon as they arrive.
Item 1: Approval of the minutes for December 16, 2019
Joe Baumann moved to approve the minutes from December 16, 2019, Stephen Nelson
seconded the motion.
The vote: Ayes: Baumann, Nelson, Edwards and Hammett
Nays: None
The Vote 4-0
Motion Carried
Item 2: Winter Events
Free Throw Contest was a success with 45 participants, along with great coverage of the
event in the newspaper. Staff is brainstorming on how to make that event even better.
Baby Crawl was a success with 20 participants, with about 60 parents/grandparents
attending and great coverage in newspaper.
Upcoming Daddy Daughter Dance on January 25, held at the Dale Robertson Center.

Item 3: Christmas Events
Chill Your Cheeks Run, Jingle Walk and Mascot Dash were a success with 350 participants.
Quincy Rinkle stated Tulsa hosted a large run that same evening. Good weather allowed
public to enjoy Kris Kringal Karnival offering its games, face painting, balloon art, and other
make & take crafts, free train rides, music of Irv Wagner, door prizes. Prizes included,
bicycles/helmets, motorized scooters/helmets.
Mayor’s Christmas Party for Kids had their annual essay contest, letters to Santa, games,
face painting, ice your own cookies, interaction with large as life Christmas Characters and
free pictures with Santa.
The 395 th Army Band performed as a part of Christmas in the Park with the public enjoying
the holiday jazz ensemble for two hours.
Sounds of the Season Philharmonic was a success with increased ticket sales, great
performances by all and a beautiful evening.
Item 4: Staff Reports/Programs/Personnel
Quincy Rinkle stated staff is excited to offer many new classes to home schoolers and
general public, from cooking to small wood working projects.
Item 6: Open Discussion
Stephen Nelson stated Parks & Recreation had another great year with Christmas in the
Park events & lights. Sounds of the Season was wonderful. Looking forward to new ideas
growing bigger and better.
Jason Hammett thanked staff for Christmas gift card, baseball signups soon looking forward
to a big opening day celebration possibly with fireworks.
Joe Baumann stated lights were beautiful, new displays great. Looking forward to the many
upcoming eating events.
Joe Edwards enjoyed Christmas in the Park as did his visiting relatives from Phoenix. He
looks forward to a new year and moving forward.
