The City of Yukon Park Board met for their regular meeting on Wednesday August 18, 2021,
6:00 p.m. at the Huckaba Bldg., 532 W. Main, Yukon, OK.

Others Present: Shelli Selby, Jan Scott and Andrea Griffin
Item 1: Approval of the minutes Wednesday, July 21, 2021
Joe Baumann moved to approve the minutes from July 21, 2021. Stephen Nelson seconded
the motion.
The vote: Ayes: Baumann, Nelson, Edwards and Hammett
Nays: None
The Vote 4-0
Motion Carried
Item 2: Fall Programs / Events
Jan spoke about & handed out the 2021 Fall Park & Recreation pamphlets. Discussed how by
us printing them instead of a published brochure it is economical. Members took a few
moments to browse the pamphlets to see programs offered at each of our 3 facilities. Rock
the Route should draw a crowd with Kevin Fowler, Cross Rags & Young, and Josh Meloy.

Item 3: Rock the Route will take place September 2, 2021. Lineup will be Kevin Fowler,
Cross Rags & Young, and Josh Meloy. We will have a new updated family area along with
several food trucks. We should have a good turnout.
Item 4: Placement of Ed Jezioro ’ Bench
Stephen Nelson and Joe Edwards spoke of placement of bench-placement will be put in
writing. A request letter to the city has already been pre-approved under the new park
donation plan.
Item 5: Summer Events/Programs/Pools/Concerts in the Park
Our summer programs are completed and Concerts in the Park are over. Quincy will be
winterizing the pool and the splash pad is still broken.

Jan stated the City had taken bids for Freedom Trail new playground/splashpad project. She
then read Claudia Krshka’s email to the board in regards to project.
Item 7: Staff/Personnel Reports
Jan stated four full time employees have accepted employment elsewhere.
All jobs are listed on the City’s website.
Item 8: Taylor Park
Board members discussed road to BMX being extremely rough, unused areas have tall grass
and weeds. Back stops are useless due to piles of dirt dumped in front of them. The soccer
field, fencing and parking lot are solid. Jan stated Public Works will fix back stops for about
$1,000.00.
Item 9: New Business
Mayor Selby discussed Pets & People ownership of land that they could sell to benefit
themselves. She also revisited idea of dog park for community at Dickenson Park or Kimbell
Park.
Item 10: Open Discussion
Stephen Nelson is looking forward to the season of Fall and Fall Soccer. Appreciates
everything Park & Recreation does for community.
Jason Hammett is looking forward to Rock the Route, progress of the Community Survey
and the new style of the Park & Recreation program brochure.
Joe Edwards likes the new Park & Recreation program brochure, excited about Rock the
Route and community survey.
