The City of Yukon Park Board met for their regular meeting on Wednesday July 21, 2021,
6:00 p.m. at the Huckaba Bldg., 532 W. Main, Yukon, OK.

VISITOR ’S BUSINESS: Jason Beal, City Manager’s Office (Item 2)

Item 1: Approval of the minutes Wednesday, June 16, 2021
Cathy Wright moved to approve the minutes from June 16, 2021. Joe Baumann seconded
the motion.
The vote: Ayes: Wright, Baumann, Edwards and Hammett
Nays: None
The Vote 4-0
Motion Carried
Item 2: Citizen Input to Improve Yukon
Jason Beal, Assistant to the City Manager, gave his presentation of the upcoming Yukon
Community Survey in regards to getting input from the citizens as to what future
improvements/new facilities/parks, etc., would be a priority as funds become available. A
two page survey covers Yukon’s infrastructure, current needs and future development.
Distribution of the two page survey will begin in September’s Yukon Water Bill, City of
Yukon’s website, all social media, published in local newspapers, in person at all P&R
locations, booths at community events along with a QR scan. Posters and banners will be
posted in facilities and around town, along with two-three town hall meetings. The City goal is
a kick off date of September 1st and run through October 31. There will be Two to three town
hall meeting within that time, with November results. A proposed ballot approval is scheduled
for April 5, 2022 with a June 28 election.
Item 3: Approval of Yukon Soccer Club use of Ranchwood Park

Jason Hammett moved to approve Yukon Soccer Club use of Ranchwood Park Soccer Fields
and Taylor Park Soccer Fields, Aug. 31, 2021-Sept. 1, 2022. Insurance update Sept. 1, 2021.
Joe Baumann seconded the motion
The Vote: Ayes: Baumann, Wright, Edwards and Hammett
Nays: No
The Vote: 4-0

Item 4: Approval of a recommendation to purchase and place a bench in the park for Ed
Jezioro, long time Yukon Park Board Member and youth soccer coach.
Joe Baumann moved to approve Ed Jezioro bench in the park. Jason Hammett seconded the
motion.
The vote: Ayes: Wright, Baumann, Edwards and Hammett
Nays: None
The Vote: 4-0
Item 5: Summer Events/Programs/Pools/Concerts in the Park
Quincy reported there has been minimal downtime with the Splashpad but if something
occurs, staff from the JCG are able to go and trouble shoot. City Splash is the only pool open
with limited life guards but staff are able to take frequent breaks. Kids Camp is going well at
YCC.
Thursday’s Concerts in the Park and Friday Fun Days have been well attended also.
DRC programs are going well.
Item 6: Freedom Trail new playground and spashpad projects
Jan stated they are currently taking bids for this project.
Item 7: Staff/Personnel Reports
Quincy stated we are fully staffed and have a good core event staff.
Item 8: Park Board Inspection – Sunrise Park
Board members reported equipment is old, but usable. One small swing missing, softball
signs faded, backstop on SE field needs repair, fields are in fairly good condition and nice
Kiwanis benches available.
Item 9: Open Discussion
Joe Baumann enjoyed Freedom Fest, thought the fireworks were wonderful along with the
Veteran’s Dinner and VIP food. He thought the craft tent and games were a welcome
addition for families.
Jason Hammet stated the Sunday fireworks were great, looking forward to the City Survey.
He said baseball teams still need a places to practice.

Cathy Wright didn’t attend, but the people that attended enjoyed everything. She said, Great
job! Also, she is looking forward to City Survey.
Joe Edwards enjoyed Freedom Fest and the great fireworks. He is looking forward to the
survey, appears to be transparent, inclusive and professional. Thank you to staff for Freedom
Fest.
