Members Present:
Margarete Albrecht, lnez Andrews, Sue Kilmer, Mary Moore, Jeanne Riggs and
Librarian, Sara Schieman.

Librarian's Report: .
Covid 19 update:
Due to new guidance from the CDC regarding the spread of Covid 19 on surfaces,
as of May 1we will no longer quarant¡ne returned materials. Cleaning all children's
iPads were returned to the children's area. Also, surfaces will be cleaned by staff
on a regular basis, during operating hours, instead of after each patron contact. At
this time, all programming will continue on Facebook or Zoom. Limited summer
programs may have limited in-house participants if social distancing in the program
is possible, and the presenter is on-site. Decisions will be made on a program-by-
program basis. Finally, materials con be returned to either the inside or outside
book drops.
library Staff:
Kylie Maxwell was hired for 19 hr. part-time. Shawna Deeds has received her MLIS
from OU and Lindsay Ogle has received her MLS from Emporia State University.
Sara and Shawna completed CPR refresher training on June 10.
Monthly Statistics: April, May, and June 2021statistics were provided.
Programs and Activities:
Decisions about any participants on-site will be made on a program-by-program
basis and will be influenced by the state's Covid case numbers.
Children's Programs: Baby Story Fun, Preschool Story Time, Deliciously True
Stories, Tails and Tales, Firefly Friends, All Tails Told, Owl Pellet Dissection, and
Loving Our Littlest Neighbors.
Family Programs: Discovering Together Through DIY*-Seed Bombs.
Young Adult Programs: DIY Confetti Bowl, Save the Pets, Shark Conservation,
Native Animal Lore, and Explore Legends, Lore and Mythologies of Oklahoma
tribes.
Tweens: Monthly Foodie Fun.
Outreach: Monthly programs at Canadian County Children's Justice Center.
Adult Programs: Canning at Hone, Container Gardening, Canning at Home ,and
Container Gardening.
Page Turners Book Club: Second Saturday of each month in person.
Outreach: Book delivery to homebound patrons and residences at Yukon Hills.
Budget and Funding:
Friends of the Library book sales at the old library were held a/t7,5/1,5/15, 6/5,
6/t9. Ladies Library Club held installation luncheon May 13. Budget was approved
with no issue.
Other:
Niche Academy, a tool for creating online training experiences for staff and patrons
was purchased. lt will assist with staff training needs and provide a place to store
virtual library programs. lt was purchased for SZOOO and the price will never
increase.
Policy Updates:
Collection Development was amended and approved by lnez, Jeanne and Board.
Circulation Policy was amended and approved by lnez, Margarete and Board.
lnternet Policy was amended and approved by Sue, Jeanne and Board. Severe
Weather Policy was amended and approved by Sue, Margarete and Board. Library
Patron Behavior Policy was amended and approved by Jeanne, Sue and Board.
Library Display Policy was amended and approved by lnez, Jeanne and Board.
Mabel C. Fry Public Library Meeting Room Reservations and use Policy was
amended and approved by Margarete, Sue and Board.
