The City of Yukon Park Board met for their regular meeting on Wednesday June 16, 2021,
6:00 p.m. at the Huckaba Bldg., 532 W. Main, Yukon, OK.
Roll Call: (Present) Joe Baumann,
Stephen Nelson
Cathy Wright
Absent: Joe Edwards
Jason Hammett
Others Present: Jan Scott, Quincy Rinkle and Andrea Griffin
Item 1: Approval of the minutes Wednesday, May 19, 2021
Cathy Wright moved to approve the minutes from May 19, 2021. Stephen Nelson seconded
the motion.
The vote: Ayes: Baumann, Wright and Nelson
Nays: None
The Vote 3-0
Motion Carried
Item 2: Consideration of Agreement Modification
Stephen Nelson moved that the Yukon Christian Athletic Association’s summer
Agreement to be considered from August 31 through September 30, 2021.
Cathy Wright seconded the motion.
The Vote: Ayes: Baumann, Wright ad Nelson.
Nays: No
The Vote: 3-0
Motion Carried:
Item 3: Jan said the City was seeking Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the Freedom Trail
Playground and Splash Pad. Deadline for the sealed bids and info is due June 30th.
Item 4: Summer Events/Programs/Pools/Concerts in the Park

Friday Fundays are under way. One the largest crowds attended is Touch A Truck, Turtle
Races were held last Friday and this Friday will be our annual Fishing Derby.
Programs are in full swing with regular teams of Pickle Ball playing 4 days a week.
Walkers are coming back as well. Summer camp at the YCC is full and everyone is having
fun while they are hiking, swimming, creating crafts, playing games and going on field trips
such as the OKC Zoo and the Western Heritage Museum.
City Splash is the only pool open this year and hosts the Yukon Swim Team, swim lessons,
water aerobics classes, public swimming. The pool also serves numerous day care centers.
The Sunrise Splash Pad open also and has been running more smoothly this year.
Jackie Cooper Gym has been busy with their programs such as water wars, nerf wars,
dodgeball, archery and little kickers.
Dale Robertson Center has their regular programs along with serving lunches as they have
done in the past.
Item 5: Staff/Personnel Reports
There is a national shortage of life guards, we are not exempt. Our life guards will be working
40 hours or more, unless we are able to hire more guards.
Item 6: Park Board Inspections
Sunrise Park will be the next park to be inspected by the park board. No problems were
reported at Ranchwood Park.
Item 7: Open Discussion
Cathy Wright said she was excited and looking forward tothe July 3rd & 4th celebration.
She thanked the staff for all that they do and offering various programs/events keeping
everyone busy.
Stephen Nelson also thanked staff for their hard work and looking forward to the 3rd & 4th
festivities. Thank you to the City Council and Highway 4 is a great asset and he’s pleased to
see progress.
Joe Baumann is looking forward the July 3rd & 4th and summer programs. He also thanked
staff for hard work.
Jan Scott stated Yukon residents will have information/surveys in their upcoming water bills in
regards to town hall meetings for possible bond money or tax increases to support City
infrastructure improvements
