Park Board Yukon Park Board Minutes April 17, 2024 The Yukon Park Board met in regular session at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, April 17th, at the Mary Huckaba Building, 532 West Main Street, Yukon, OK 73099. I. Call to Order Joe Baumann – Vice Chairman – Ward 4, called the meeting to order. II. Roll Call ROLL CALL: (Present) Stephen Nelson – Ward 2 Jessica Limestall-Kerr – Ward 3 OTHERS PRESENT: Ryan McClure, Parks and Recreation Director Ashley Geddes, Assistant Parks and Recreation Director Bryan Kelley, Assistant Parks and Recreation Director Kahlil Garner, Parks and Recreation Office Coordinator III. Visitors/Special Guests/Public Comments None IV. Approval of the minutes from March 20, 2024 The board began by reading the minutes from the March 20th meeting. Joe Baumann moved that they accept the minutes as written, Jessica Limestall-Kerr motion, and Stephen Nelson second. Passed. V. Parks and Recreation Department Report and Project Update Parks and Recreation Department Reports and Project Updates City of Yukon | P. O. Box 850500 | Yukon, OK 73085  Park Board 1. Staff Work Overview a. Special Projects crew completed CIP cleanup. Now they are working on stage repairs, preparation for FOC, and repairing Christmas displays. b. Parks Maintenance has been spraying the parks, watering sod and new trees, preparing flowerbeds, mowing, repainting parking lots, and working on numerous park projects c. Special Events staff are working the Yukon Senior Games and preparing for Festival of the Child, Concerts in the Park, and Freedom Fest. Also helped with Easter on the Prairie and Chamber gala d. Athletics staff are maintaining fields and running the youth baseball and softball leagues on weeknights e. Aquatics staff are working on summer hiring, facility projects, and prepping for the summer season f. Facility staff are operating facilities, running programs, and working on facility projects g. Admin staff have been working on various facility and park projects and the general and capital budgets 2. Projects a. Recently Completed Projects i. Kimbell tile/gutter repair ii. Tree planting iii. Rudy Construction is working through numerous project fixes prior to opening iii. DRC HVAC Project 1. Should be completed within the next month iv. Kimbell chemical storage area – concrete, fencing, chemical containers v. City Splash hydro blasting, repair, and painting vi. Parks and Recreation Van vii. Mascot viii. Open Discussion *Joe Baumann – Likes the updates to the Parks and Recreation conference room and the work put in by the Parks and Recreation staff making Yukon look good. *Jessica Limestall-Kerr – Parks and Recreation is doing a great job. *Stephen Nelson – Appreciates all the hard work and the photos shown during the meeting, excited about Freedom Trail opening and summer programs.
