Minutes THE TRAFFIC AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION THE TRAFFIC AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION MET IN REGULAR SESSION ON JUNE 13, 2023 AT THE CENTENNIAL BUILDING IN THE CITY COUNCIL CONFERENCE ROOM. THE MEETING WAS HELD AT 6:30 PM. ROLL CALL: James Montgomery Charlie Lee (Absent) Tim Peters Brad Downing (Resigned) Rick Cacini CITY OFFICIALS: Arnold Adams, Public Works Director Jessica Rodriquez, Public Works Item 1: Discuss and approve the minutes of the regular Traffic Commission Meeting: April 2023 Motion for minutes to be approved: Motion – Rick Cacini Second – Tim Peters The motion passed unanimously. Item 2: Visitors: None Item 3: No Parking Sign request in several areas of Sunrise Hills Subdivision. Requested by resident Glen Smith. J. Montgomery; last meeting asked to look at the city ordinances. Will hold off until next meeting; as far as the width/no parking. What is considered before doing it? Emergency vehicles fitting thru with vehicles parked on both sides of the road?  A. Adamas; will bring a copy of the city ordinances next meeting. Mitch was asking about one side or both & time frame? J. Montgomery; would need to do both sides. T. Peters; reached out to Major Roberson about more patrol in the area. Will reach out to him again. Motion – James Montgomery Second – Rick Cacini The motion passed unanimously. Item 4: Discuss Traffic Concerns Rick Cacini - people called about STOP signs with tree limbs in front of them. They gave no name/no location. - Got a call about an antenna going up in the Sunrise area and has to go to a meeting about it. - Geese crossing the street are going to cause a wreck. Maybe put up a fence or something? Tim Peters – None James Montgomery - Regarding the guy with the business on the West side of Ace Hardware. Inquiring about permits to work on windows on top of building. State does not issue permits; just cone off and possibly sign “work ahead” - Yukon Parkway & Main; flashing yellow arrow- all 4 directions. Main St. is 50 mph; it is recommended you don’t allow permissive left turns. - South Bound Hwy 4; 3 signals green, one at right turn bay. Left arrow out of High School to stay green to keep going. - Outlay of sidewalk from Ranchwood to shopping area; might want to extend to 10th, further South. A. Adams - Something is in the works regarding the sidewalk. - J. Montgomery to email Wooten to appoint someone to the Traffic Commission to replace Brad Downing. - Removed stripping on Garth Brooks & will reapply. South all the way to 10th , Yukon Parkway to Ranchwood North, Vandament to Bounce Academy, and Health Center Parkway area Item 6: Date for next meeting: Tuesday July 11, 2023 Item 7: Adjournment
