Minutes THE TRAFFIC AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION THE TRAFFIC AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION MET IN REGULAR SESSION ON NOVEMBER 14, 2023 AT THE CENTENNIAL BUILDING IN THE CITY COUNCIL CONFERENCE ROOM. THE MEETING WAS HELD AT 6:30 PM. ROLL CALL: James Montgomery Charlie Lee (Absent) Rick Cacini (Absent) Tim Peters Adam Shriver CITY OFFICIALS: Arnold Adams, Public Works Director Jessica Rodriquez, Public Works Item 1: Discuss and approve the minutes of the regular Traffic Commission Meeting: October 10, 2023 Motion for minutes to be approved: Amend Item 4: The request did not come from James Montgomery. He knew about a request made to the City of Yukon that a speed study be done at Main St. & Yukon Parkway; change speed to 45 mph Motion – James Montgomery Second – Tim Peters The motion passed unanimously with Amendment. Item 2: Visitors: None Item 3: Yukon Public Schools is requesting a “No Left Turn” sign at Holly & Shedeck School, North bound, during school hours J. Montgomery – upon approval there will need to be law enforcement present for first couple of weeks to keep traffic moving Motion – James Montgomery Second – Tim Peters The motion passed unanimously. Item 4: Discuss Traffic Concerns A. Shriver – None J. Montgomery – Yukon Parkway working really well A. Adams – Holly & Montreal project approved by council. Have to wait until school is out to begin. Need left turns at Yukon Parkway & Vandament; asked for traffic study; that project is funded and moving forward. J. Montgomery – with wheelchair ramps and pedestrian signals? A. Adams – wheelchair ramps, yes. Pedestrian signals, no. Shedeck Ave. & NW 10th traffic signal – funded J. Montgomery – coordinate with Market Place? A. Adams – No. Item 5: Date for next meeting: January 09, 2024 No meeting for the month of December 2023. Item 6: Adjournment
