Metropolitan Board of Police Commissioners meeting minutes
January 27, 2014
Bev Harves Room, Zionsville Town Hall
Present: Commissioner Steve Mundy, Commissioner Jeff Papa, Commissioner Susana Suarez,
Commissioner Matt Carney, Commissioner Suzy Nagy, Chief of Police Robert Knox.
Call to Order: Commissioner Steve Mundy
A. Approval of minutes from August 26, 2013 meeting and October 7, 2013 meeting,
Motion made to approve minutes by Commissioner Matt Carney, seconded by Commissioner
Jeff Papa, passed by unanimous vote.
B. Commissioners sworn in by Boone County Clerk of Circuit Court Penny Bogan.
Old Business: None
New Business:
1. Election of Officers: Commissioner Steve Mundy was elected President of the Metropolitan
Board of Police Commissioners and Commissioner Susana Suarez was elected as the Vice
President for the year of 2014 by unanimous vote.
2. Chief Knox advised the Commissioners of the resignation of Thomas Henthorn from the
Zionsville Police Department.
3. A discussion was had regarding the hiring procedure to fill the vacancy created by Thomas
Henthorn’s resignation.
4. Chief Knox requested permission to offer a “Conditional Offer of Employment” to Bradley Kiefer,
who had resigned his position from the Zionsville Police Department in July of 2013 to accept a
position on a police department in Florida. Mr. Kiefer now wishing to return to employment
with the Zionsville Police Department. Commissioner Papa made the motion to offer Mr. Kiefer
the “Conditional Offer of Employment”, motion was seconded by Commissioner Carney. Motion
passed by unanimous vote.
Adjourn Meeting: motion made by Commissioner Carney, Seconded by Commissioner Papa, vote passed
to adjourn the meeting by unanimous vote.
No Public Comment was offered.
The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Zionsville Metropolitan Board of Police Commissioners is
scheduled for February 24, 2014 at 8:30am in the Bev Harves Room at the Zionsville Town Hall.
