Town of Zionsville Metropolitan Board of Police Commissioners February 24, 2014 Bev Harves Room, Zionsville Town Hall Present: President Steve Mundy, Vice President Susana Suarez, Commissioner Jeff Papa, Commissioner Suzy Nagy, Chief of Police Robert Knox, Captain Douglas Gauthier Not Present: Commissioner Matt Carney Call to Order: Commissioner Steve Mundy Approval of the minutes from the January 27, 2014 meeting. Old Business: None New Business: Review of suggested Policy and Procedure changes for the Zionsville Police Department Discussion was had regarding the suggested changes and after discussion and explanation Commissioner Suarez made the motion to accept the proposed changes, the motion was seconded by Commissioner Nagy and the motion passed by unanimous vote. Captain Gauthier presented the commissioners with an update on the re­hiring of Bradley Kiefer to the position of Patrolman 2, advising the Commissioners that Mr. Kiefer had passed all medical exams and the ZPD is awaiting acceptance into the State of Indiana’s 1977 Police / Fire Pension Program with an anticipated start date of within the next two weeks. Captain Gauthier presented the Commissioners with the names of the 6 new Police Reserve Officer candidates that have started the Boone County Reserve Academy. The Academy runs through November of 2014. The names are: Jamie VanGorder, Kyle Hoover, Jacob Shelburne, Alex Roberti, Amanda Newport and David Byrum. Captain Gauthier presented Major Mike Nielsen of the Boone County Sheriff’s office who gave the Commissioners an update on the InterAct computer project, reporting that the project is 95% complete. Public Comment: None Adjourn: Motion made by Vice President Susana Suarez and seconded by Commissioner Nagy, motion passed by unanimous vote. The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Zionsville Metropolitan Board of Police Commissioners is scheduled for March 31, 2014 at 8:30am in the Bev Harves room at the Zionsville Town Hall.
