Attendees:

LanceLantz Bill Spitz Richard Stroup Art Small
Matt Dickey Evan Williams
Bicycle Friendly Community
This sub-committee is still going strong. Bicycle Indiana is hosting a BFC Seminar on February 7th
here in Zionsville (date might change).
Editor’s Note: Since found out the new date is March 19th…Town Hall Community Room.
Richard noted that Westfield is now also pursuing pathways including a BFC status. And, there’s a
Complete Streets presentation headed to the Zionsville Town Council soon.
Chamber of Commerce - Trail Map
Matt & Phil noted progress on creating a map of local paths (bikes, walking, etc). Funding is being
pursued.
Rail Trail North
Richard noted progress on land acquisition for extending our Rail Trail north to Lebanon. Funds could
come from a Governor’s initiative. He noted that the area could be annexed by either Zionsville or
Whitestown and right now is in the county…working with its Commissioners.
Laurel Street - Rail Trail Entrance
We’re still looking at signage from town (Main Street) to get to our Rail Trail at the Laurel Street
entrance (and back)…targeting Hawthorne and Pine Streets. Paul is heading up this effort…with
considerable help from Parks and Streets.
Pathway Priority
No updates on the Turkey Foot Pathway…nor the Oak Street West. Matt noted some erosion on the
proposed Eagle Creek pathway affecting the design.
Note the Date
Richard noted a planned bike tour of Boone County on September 28th Not too sure of details, but
possibly starting at Lion’s Park or Mulberry Fields.
Next meeting, Monday, February 11th…6pm
