Zionsville Pathways Committee Meeting

Pathways Committee Meeting Minutes April 14, 2014 6:00pm Meeting attendees: Mark Gibson Art Small Bill Spitz Jeff Edmundson Evan Williams Phil Brown Paul Watson Tom Schuler Clarkston Pathway Access Three residents presented once again their dilemma of bicycle/walking access to their sub-division on Michigan Road. Charlene Short Andrea Hermer Brandon Schreeg A path to the Clarkston Neighborhood will be added to our highest priority list. We also recommended they chat with Zionsville’s Streets Department (Lance) to see where Zionsville stands with potentially taking over this project from the State. Pathway Priority List We didn’t seem to have immediate access to our list of pathways with priority. We’re planning to review that list at the next meeting. Bill will find the list and send it to the committee before next meeting. Bicycle Friendly Community We submitted our second application and are currently awaiting feedback. Walk Friendly Community Our first application has been submitted and we’re again awaiting feedback. Pathway on Bloor Road Lance had previously noted no funds for pathways are in the 2014 town budget. Tom noted this could be added in the budgeting for 2015…or potentially done with monies leftover at the end of 2014. We already classified this pathway as high priority. Bike to School & Rodeo Jeff noted the ZCS date of May 7th for Bike-To-School day. And, Saturday, May 3rd is progressing for a bike rodeo timed ahead of the Bike-To-School day. Heritage Trail Park Phil noted they’re looking into a bark park to be added to Heritage Trail Park. Safe Routes to School Jeff is still pushing this. Next Meetings - The next meeting will: May 12th at 6pm .
