Zionsville Pathways Committee Meeting

April 11, 2023 Pathways Committee Meeting Minutes Members Present: Kris Barksdale, Justin Hage, Emily Makinson, Craig Melton Meeting began at 6:33 1. Justin gave a recap of his meeting with Jarod and Mindy. a. Trailfest is a good idea for 2024, but already running out of time for a 2023 event. b. Idea for trailfest is a 5K/trail clean up in coordination with Parks Foundation c. Opportunity for participation/partnership with Greenfest funride on April 22. Request for volunteers from our committee. d. Dog event at Heritage trail Sept 23. Request for volunteers. e. Trail lights idea for a canopy or uplighting on trails around Winterfest f. Jarrod looking into 2024 Grant request for 2016 Trail study refresh. g. Trail counter going in permanently by townhall. 2. Discussed various new/extension pathway ideas including Oak St west, Whitestown Rd. at Cobblestone, Roundabout by ZMS, Cooper Rd., Turkey Foot to Mulberry 3. Discussed our committee charter and format of meetings going forward. 4. For the next meeting Justin will email the group an Agenda by May 3rd. Going forward will attempt to have an agenda for each meeting, discuss potential pathways and update recommendation sheet, and plan for a 2024 event. 5. Action items for May 3rd meeting: Bring 5 “wish list” trail extension ideas to discuss. 6. Plan to create questionnaire for town input on most desired trail locations.
