16935 CITY COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS City Council Chambers, 123 South Lincoln Street, Municipal Building, Aberdeen, South Dakota, May 15, 2017, at 5:30 p.m., regular meeting of the Board of City Council Members, Mayor Mike Levsen presiding. Present at roll call were City Councilors David Bunsness, Todd Campbell, Alan Johnson, Dennis “Mike” Olson, Mark Remily, Rob Ronayne by teleconference call, Clint Rux, and Jennifer Slaight-Hansen. City Staff present were Lynn Lander, Ron Wager, Stuart Nelson, Brett Bill, Karl Alberts, Dave McNeil, and Shirley Arment. Mayor Levsen led the Pledge of Allegiance. MINUTES Bunsness moved, Rux seconded to approve the minutes of May 8, 2017, as circulated. Upon roll call, all voting aye, motion carried. PROCLAMATIONS Mayor Levsen read and proclaimed May 15-19, 2017 as “Senior Corps Week” and May 20-21, 2017 as “Disabled American Veterans Forget-Me-Not Campaign”. OPEN FORUM – No one was present. CONSENT CALENDAR Remily moved, Olson seconded to approve the following items on the consent calendar: SET HEARING DATE – of May 30, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. for an application for a new Retail On-Off Sale Wine License for Stacy J. Gossman dba Scotty’s Drive-Inn Bar & Grill, 719 North Main Street. LICENSE – Residential Building Contractor – Joseph V. Gese LOTTERY NOTICE – Aberdeen Aqua Addicts Water Ski Team – receive and place on file. Upon roll call, all voting aye, motion carried. NEW BUSINESS PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT Campbell moved, Johnson seconded to approve a property tax abatement for 509 North Penn Street for Brown County in the total amount of $7,820.50. Upon roll call, all voting aye, motion carried. REAPPOINTMENT TO BID BOARD Bunsness moved, Johnson seconded to approve the reappointment of Matthew Zeller to the Downtown Business Improvement District I Board of Directors. Upon roll call, all voting aye, motion carried. BID FOR WATER & SEWER PROJECT A Bid was received and publicly opened on May 2, 2017 for the AGP Water & Sewer Improvements Project (WS-2017-1). A detailed list of the Bid is on file at the City Finance Office. Campbell moved, Rux seconded to award the AGP Water & Sewer Project Bid to B & B Contracting in the amount of $160,727.60 and authorize the City Manager and Finance Officer to sign all the necessary documents after approval by the City Attorney.
