It is the start of the busy season at the airport. They are working on in-house projects. They are doing new millings from the recycled milling that was torn up from the old one to make a perimeter road so the active air field does not need to be crossed. The expectation is that this week or next the runways will be finished. 2.4. Education Enhancement Award: Kirk Bender is the winner, and he has been notified. Notice also went out to the remaining applicants. 2.5. NDEAM: There wasn’t much follow up other than the news that it was basically people that already work with those who have disabilities that attended the event. It was mentioned that a comment was given that one participant liked the event better when it had awards along with it. During this conversation it was asked where our banner and scrapbooks would go. It was decided that they will go to Voc Rehab with the other books. 2.6. ADA Anniversary Celebration (Tabled until January 2017) 3. Old Business 3.1. Brown County Fair Accessible Parking and Future Options(Eric Vetter, Doris Stusiak) This was brought up at the Partners in Community Pride that accessible parking was not actually accessible. Eric Vetter looked up the code on temporary event, and it stated that accessible parking needs to be on a hard-packed surface. Eric talked with the Fair Manager about getting some parking spots on a hard surface. They will be bring this up to the state’s attorney to get his perspective on what a temporary event would be considered. Ideas of what can be done included using gravel, paving, packing down the grass better, etc. Eric will send out the information on when the next BCF meeting is going to be for those who want to attend. 3.2. Thank You Card Supply (Holly Gederos) No discussion. 3.3. Did You Realize Campaign Status (Krista Bau, Holly Gederos, et. al.) There is a plan for the campaign, but funding is needed. Krista Bau attempted to see if there would be some partnership to get the word out, but there have been no takers. A billboard would be nice, but this is $750. Once a budget is set, then the subcommittee will work on a plan of action. 4. New Business 4.1 Mayor's Advisory Promotion Fund Request (Doris Stusiak) 4.1.1 Volunteers for Budget Subcommittee- if you are interested in being on this subcommittee please let Doris know. Once we have official word from the City of the funding, the subcommittee will begin the budgeting process. 4.2 Quorum Clarification (Doris Stusiak) (Tabled until November 2016) 4.3 Disability Awareness Day at Fair (Doris Stusiak) Doris shared what she found out about the Clay County, Iowa, fair and what their Disability Awareness Day entails. They have free amusement rides for a period of time, free lunch, and a free evening event. They are able to provide these events because of partnerships with local groups such as Shriners, Pony Express Riders of Iowa and other groups. Doris then questioned if we could start working towards getting more education and awareness out to different events like our fair. 5.
