Mayor’s Advisory Committee for People with Disabilities Minutes
Meeting Date: Tuesday, November 15, 2016 Start Time: 12 p.m. End Time: 1 p.m.
Location: City Hall 2nd Floor Conference Room
Purpose: Regular scheduled meeting
Attended: Holly Gederos, Krista Bau, Sarah Johnson, Susan Hook, Cindy Kirschman, Tom Wanttie, Kris Fastenau,
Laura Stoltenburg, Mendy Jones, Becca Wells, Sandi Glover, Eric Vetter, Mayor Mike Levsen, Deb Kambel, Cody
Roggatz
Absent: Dawn Brush, Ardell Fiedler, Nancy Kelsey, Steve Kelsey, Kristi Myhre, Doris Stusiak, Dalita Meyer
1. Standing Items
1.1 Any additions to agenda? Membership Committee Forms discussion was added to the agenda.
1.2 Review and approve minutes from October 2016 meeting: Motion by Becca Wells, second by Krista Bau;
motion approved.
1.3 Review and approve Treasurer’s report from October 2016: Balance as of today is $10.25, as Chamber
membership dues were taken out unexpectedly. Bills of $193.89 (Kens Fairway - ADA celebration) and
$10 Ride Line tickets are still anticipated to go through account. Krista Bau made a motion to approve
borrowing $193.89 from ADA budget dollars, with repayment when 2017 funds are received. Seconded
by Sarah Johnson. Motion approved.
2. Committee Reports
2.1. BAD – April 21, 2016, to be held at Civic Arena (free rental). Cindy Kirschman will email “Save the Date”
to area teachers. No committee chair at this point. Committee will gather in January for the first
planning meeting.
2.2. Partners in Community Pride:
Eric Vetter wasn’t able to attend meeting.
2.3. Transportation:
Tom Wanttie reported Ride Line continues to make 2 trips to Summit to meet the bus line and this will
continue.
2.4. Education Enhancement Award: Kirk Bender has received the $500 award, picture has been submitted to
Aberdeen American News and posted on our Facebook page. This committee will be tabled until spring
2017.
2.5. NDEAM:
Four individuals have signed up to be on the NDEAM committee.
2.6. ADA Anniversary Celebration (Tabled until January 2017)
2.7. Officer Nomination Subcommittee – Nominations that have been secured at this time are Chairperson –
Tom Wanttie, Vice-Chairperson/Treasurer – Laura Stoltenburg, Secretary – Becca Wells, Dalita Meyers. If
anyone else is interested in being placed on the ballot, please contact one the subcommittee members –
Krista Bau, Doris Stusiak, Holly Gederos, or Cindy Kirschman. Voting for officers will take place at January
2017 meeting.
3. Old Business
3.1. Brown County Fair Accessible Parking and Future Options(Eric Vetter, Doris Stusiak)
No new updates.
3.2. Did You Realize Campaign Status (Krista Bau, Holly Gederos, et. al.)
Will table until January 2017 and then vote on proposed monetary amount that this campaign can use.

4. New Business
4.1 Mayor's Advisory Promotion Fund Request (Doris Stusiak) -
4.1.1 Volunteers for Budget Subcommittee- The committee consists of elected officers, along with
Dalita Meyer and Krista Bau who have expressed interest. This subcommittee will meet after
hearing final word from the city on the budget.
4.2 Membership Committee Form – There are still a few members who have not returned their completed
membership forms. Cindy Kirschman will email the form out to those who have not done so yet.
4.3 Quorum Clarification (Doris Stusiak) - Mayor Levsen suggested the committee decide between ‘quorum’
and ‘majority.’ This discussion will be held in January 2017. Mayor Levsen stated Jackie at Senior Center
would be a good person to talk with regarding this matter as the Senior Center recently revised their plan.
4.3 December Meeting – The committee decided to hold a Christmas get together on December 19, at 6:00 at
Pizza Ranch. Holly Gederos will be sending out an email with details. This event will replace the regularly
scheduled December meeting.
5. Review Upcoming Dates
November 16: Parent Focus Group, Center for Disabilities, at School for the Blind & VI, 6:00 – 7:30 pm
November 19: Art Show at Aspire, Inc., from 1 – 4 p.m.
6. Ending Items –
Mayor Levsen has obtained assistive hearing technology for people who want to attend the city council
meetings. This could be available for Mayor’s Advisory Committee meetings also.
Adjourn Meeting: Tom Wanttie moved to adjourn with second by Cody Roggatz. Motion carried.
