Mayor’s Advisory Committee for People with Disabilities Minutes Meeting Date: Tuesday, July 18, 2017 Start Time: 12 p.m. End Time: 1 p.m. Location: City Hall 2nd Floor Conference Room Purpose: Regular scheduled meeting Attended: Krista Bau, Susan Hook, Cindy Krischman, Mayor Mike Levsen, Dalita Meyer, Cody Roggatz, Laura Stoltenburg, Doris Stusiak, Eric Vetter, Tom Wanttie, Becca Wells, Tyler Goldade Absent: Kristine Fastenau, Ardell Fiedler, Mendy Jones, Kristi Myhre Excused: Dawn Brush, Sara Dorich, Deb Kambel, Nancy Kelsey, Sandy Glover 1. Standing Items 1.1 Any additions to agenda? none 1.2 Review and approve minutes from May 2017 Meeting: Motion made by Susan Hook and Becca Wells. Motion carried. 1.3 Review and approve Treasurer’s report from June 2017 Meeting. Current balance $1960.75; ADA balance $896.33 and BAD balance $303.50. We will have expenses for ADA event. Motion to approve treasurer’s report made by Eric Vetter and second by Cindy Krischman. Motion carried. 2. Committee Reports 2.1 BAD – No report. 2.2 Partners in Community Pride – Eric reported it was a typical meeting and discussed the ADA celebration and the Green Aberdeen picnic that was last week. 2.3 Transportation – Tom reported that Rideline staff is training the past month. Trying to implement a new program that addresses routing for all rides. Started implementing the new program today. There is a new yellow wrap advertisement on the bus called Click-It. This is a paid advertisement. Goal is to have more advertisements on the buses to help with financial income. Rideline is putting together a pricing list for advertising. Airport volume is up 1.1% for airline traffic this first ½ of the year. Anticipate a record year. Airport will receive 2 new snow removal equipment. Continue to see general aviation traffic increase also. Looking for people who would like to volunteer for an emergency drill August 29th at 10 a.m. 2.4 Education Enhancement Award – Applications were sent out to NSU. Trying to figure out a contact person for PC. 2.5 NDEAM –Nothing to report. Will be meeting this Thursday. ADA Anniversary Celebration – July 21 at 5:30 held outside. Food, beverages, giveaways are being accepted. Will have a w/c event/race and glasses that demonstrate different vision deficits and Square dancing. DQ is giving 100 Dilly Bars. 3. Old Business 3.1 Gypsy Day float: No report. SDSBVI needs to look come up with a theme. 3.2 Tom working with City financing for next year’s funding for the Mayor’s council. 4. New Business 4.1 Mayor Levsen reports Medicaid is saved with the new health care bill not passing. This is good for those individuals with Medicaid. {00029356.DOCX / 1}  4.2 NAMI – Met last night and reviewed what has been accomplished the past 1.5 years. They have developed support groups and family support. NAMI night is always the 3rd Wednesday evening of the month at the Red Rooster. 5.
