Mayor’s Advisory Committee for People with Disabilities Meeting Minutes Meeting Date: Tuesday, September 18, 2017 Start Time: 12 p.m. End Time: 1 p.m. Location: City Hall 2nd Floor Conference Room Purpose: Regular scheduled meeting Attended: Tom Wanttie, Susan Hook, Krista Bau, Sarah Dorich, Eric Vetter, Nancy Kelsey, Laura Stoltenburg, Ardelle Fiedler, Steve Kelsey, Becca Wells, Tyler Goldade, Mendy Jones, Dalita Meyer, Michael Gast (Student from SDSBVI), Andrea Overman, (Student from NSU) Excused Kristin Fastenau, Doris Stusiak, Kristi Myhre, Cody Roggatz, Cindy Krischman, Deb Kambel, Dawn Brush, Sandy Glover 1. Standing Items 1.1 Any additions to agenda? - Approve Michael Gast as new committee member – will vote on the following month along with Andrea Overman. 1.2 Review and approve minutes from August 2017 Meeting – Corrections to Treasure’s Report for July 2017. Delete approve bylaws under 1:1 in August minutes. Krista made the motion to approve the August minutes with the corrections noted. Second by Sarah. Motion carried. 1.3 Review and approve Treasurer’s report from August 2017 Meeting: $407.54 spent on events. $1,426.09 balance in the general account. $896.33 balance in the ADA account and $303.50 balance in the BAD account. 1.4 Becca made the motion to approve the treasurer’s report with a second from Sara. Motion carried. 1.5 Excused absence: see above 2. Committee Reports 2.1 BAD – Tabled until January 2018 2.2 Partners in Community Pride – Toured the landfill and they encourage the public to tour. Eric suggested teaming with this committee for snow removal. 2.3 Transportation – The Emergency Evacuation Drill was held at the Airport. A few people from the Mayor’s Advisory Committee for People with Disabilities participated. There were 24 injured volunteers and the exercise went well. They team learned from the drill areas to improve. This drill is completed every 3 years. Ride Line has begun driving students and Head Start students again this fall. The rides for the 3 days of the fair went well with over 1,500 passengers, which is more than last year. Rides cost $2. Ride Line continues to be short drivers. Looking for part-time drivers. Still working with Jefferson Bus Lines to improve bus services. 2.4 Education Enhancement Award – There were 4 applicants and all were from NSU. Will announce the winner next month. 2.5 NDEAM – Event is the film “Life Animated” which will be held October 18th from 1-4 p.m. at the Capital Theater. Fliers have been sent out. 2.6 ADA Anniversary Celebration – Eric made thank you fliers and all members of this meeting signed the fliers. Eric will send them out to those who donated items for this event. 3. Old Business 3.1 Gypsy Day Parade – Float Update – Sign-up sheet was sent around the members of the committee to assist with making the parade float at the SDSBVI. 3.2 3.3 3.4 4.
