Ending Items – Adjourn Cindy Kirschman will get Tom the information regarding upcoming National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) dates for meetings and the groups that are active in Aberdeen. Below is what she sent in an email on 1/17/18 to our office; For those of you who may not have gotten the message, our NAMI meeting on Monday evening, January 15, was cancelled. A couple of important things that are worth mentioning since we didn’t have our meeting. 1. NAMI Night – NAMI night will be held this Thursday (tomorrow night), January 18th at the Red Rooster, 5:30 - 8:00. We are in need of someone that will be able to come and sit at the information table. Whoever is able to do this, please reply to me and I can give you specifics. Attached is a flyer for the event tomorrow night. 2. Meeting location – As you may know, NEMHC will no longer work for a meeting place due to renovations that are being made there. The library could be a likely place, however, with all of the Monday holidays, we wouldn’t be able there then. (they are closed on holidays) I also checked into Millstone, which has a private room. Their Mondays are also booked with recurring meetings. We may need to look at change of day of the week or if anyone else has a location they think may work, I definitely will make some contacts. 3. Ending the Silence – I mentioned this program on a school counselor listserv and now the presentation is in ‘hot demand’ at many area schools. Counselors have been emailing me wanting the program for their students. NAMISD will be mailing some resource cards for use in this presentation and then the trained facilitators will get some times scheduled. The problem is our facilitators are working people and will need to take time off from work to do these presentations so it may be difficult to get in all the presentations that are being requested. The next NAMIAberdeen meeting is scheduled for Monday, February 19 (another holiday). Please watch your emails for an update as to location or different date. Any input is greatly appreciated. 7. Next Meeting – February 20, 2018 {00032192.DOCX / 1}
