DISPOSITION OF CASES
PROJECT # 0078
Application(s) COA 0713
Property Address 199 Lark Street
Owner 199 Lark, LLC
Historic District Center Square/Hudson Park
After discussing the request to carry out a full exterior renovation on a vacant structure and construct a rear one-
story addition, the Commission made the following recommendations-
Enlarge the trim over the top of the proposed windows on the second and third floors to indicate a lintel,
similar to the building located at 197 Lark Street;
Provide a more projected sill at the proposed windows to provide more dimension. The sill should project at
least one inch;
Provide siding details and specifications indicating the proposed reveal;
The building should feature corner boards at the southeast and northeast corners;
The Commission has concerns about the lack of proposed traditional material such as wood lap siding and
lack of proposed details that recreate what was historically at this building. The lack of details may not meet
the Historic Resources-Overlay review standards;
The applicant should look at the details on surrounding wood framed buildings, such as cornices, window sills
and lintels, window frames, and storefronts in order to have a better understanding of typical traditional
features. The applicant should also not the type of material, thickness and reveal of the historic details;
The applicant should consider a Pre-primed cedar siding for the replacement of the non-original aluminum
siding
Any damaged historic material should be replaced in-kind on the cornice; and
The applicant should verify that the elevation drawings are correctly scaled.
