PARKS COMMISSION September 16, 2024 The Parks Commission met at the Albany Village Hall on Monday, September 16th, 2024. The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Tonya Stephan. Roll call was taken with the following members present: Stephan, Berty Hefty, Kimberly Klein, Larry Ommodt, Jim Mauerman, and Rich Walcholz. Also present: Jeff Inabnit. Proof of posting was verified. MINUTES: Motion by Mauerman, seconded by Hefty, to approve the minutes of the last meeting as printed. Carried. VILLAGE BALLPARK UPDATE: Inabnit presented a quote from Midwest Athletic Fields LLC in the amount of $49,680 to do repairs at village ballpark. Stephan asked for another quote to be obtained for comparison. Suggestion of looking into some fundraising options. L-SCREENS BASEBALL FIELD: Discussion was held on whereabouts of L-drag screens. Gill will try to locate the screens. MOUND CLAY: Mound clay is running low; village will order more. NEW BATTING CAGE NET: Batting cage net in need of replacement, cost runs around $1500- 2000. SUMMER BONUSES: Motion by Stephan, seconded by Ommodt, to approve summer bonuses as follows: $500 to Avary Briggs-Public Works Laborer; $500 to Cindy Mauerman-Recreation Director; and $250 to Isabelle Brewer-Recreation Assistant. Carried. 2025 BUDGET: Motion by Stephan, seconded by Hefty, to send the 2025 budget to the finance meeting. Carried. ANNOUNCEMENTS AND FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS: Gill will look into pricing for basketball resurfacing and playground equipment at the Village Park; sprinkler system at baseball field; and weed removal at Water Tower Park.
