PARKS COMMISSION October 21, 2024 The Parks Commission met at the Albany Village Hall on Monday, September 16th, 2024. The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Tonya Stephan. Roll call was taken with the following members present: Stephan, Berty Hefty, Kimberly Klein, Larry Ommodt, Jim Mauerman and Rich Wachholz. Proof of posting was verified. MINUTES: Motion by Mauerman, seconded by Hefty, to approve the minutes of the last meeting as printed. Carried. VILLAGE BALLPARK UPDATE: The dugout roofs are completed. Looking at putting together a fundraising committee; check with DP and Kranig to see what they can help with. VILLAGE PARK BASKETBALL COURT RESURFACING: Looking to get something scheduled in Spring 2025. VILLAGE PARK PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT: Nothing. BASEBALL FIELD SPRINKLER SYSTEM: The committee is questioning whether this has been completed and what is taking so long. WATER TOWER WEED REMOVAL: The committee would like Gill to look into the purchase or rental of a brush hog. The weed removal should be completed three times a year at a minimum. ANNOUNCEMENTS AND FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS: If the public works needs help with cleaning up leaves, etc. from the parks have Gill check with the school and see if they can coordinate the help on the October 30 clean-up date. It was mentioned to have public works stop mowing the areas that do not need it and focus on parks. Committee would like to know where the set aside money is and where the money from the sale of the trees is at. Look into grants.
