PERSONNEL COMMITTEE MEETING August 28, 2023 The meeting of the Personnel Committee was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Village President Kim Blumer at the Albany Village Hall, 206 North Water Street, Albany, WI. Members present were: Blumer, Fred Johnson, Roald Henderson, Larry Nipple, Tonya Stephan and Bert Hefty. Absent: Michelle Monson. Also present: Michelle Brewer and Robert Ritter. Proof of posting was verified. CHRISTMAS EVE HOLIDAY: Motion by Stephan, seconded by Hefty, to approve Christmas Eve holiday a full day off with employees using four hours of holiday pay and our hours of employees earned time off. Carried. Motion by Stephan, seconded by Johnson, to approve Tuesday, December 26, 2023 as the Christmas Eve holiday since Christmas falls on Monday which would have been the Christmas Eve holiday. Carried. ANNOUNCEMENTS AND FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS: Hefty would like the village to look into the possibility of hiring a crossing guard at Hwy 59 and Mechanic when school is in session, there are many students that walk to school and he feels a crossing guard would be beneficial. This item will be brought to the September 2023 board meeting. ADJOURN TO CLOSED SESSION: Motion by Stephan, seconded by Hefty, to go into closed session under §19.85(1)(c). Roll call vote: Blumer—yes; Johnson—yes; Henderson— yes; Nipple—yes; Stephan—yes; Hefty—yes. Carried. RECONVENE TO OPEN SESSION: Motion by Hefty, seconded by Johnson, to reconvene to open session. Roll call vote: Blumer—yes; Johnson—yes; Henderson—yes; Nipple—yes; Stephan—yes; Hefty—yes. Carried. RECOMMENDATIONS FROM CLOSED SESSION: Motion by Blumer, seconded by Johnson, to hire Logan Lange full-time with an 18 month probation at $25/hr. Carried.
