STREET AND UTILITY COMMITTEE
September 6th, 2023
The regular meeting of the Street and Utility Committee was called to order at 6:30 p.m. in the Albany Village
Hall by Chairperson Larry Nipple. Members present were: Nipple, Kim Blumer, Eileen Althaus, Roald
Henderson and Jim Mauerman. Also present: Lonnie Gill, Ex-Officio, and Tim Astfalk of Mead & Hunt.
Proof of posting was verified.
MINUTES: Motion by Blumer, seconded by Mauerman, to approve the previous minutes as printed. Carried.
SEWER MAIN AND MANHOLE UPDATE: Astfalk of Mead and Hunt stated that he is currently working
on this, and more information will be provided at the October meeting.
SPEC. FOR NEW TRUCK: Gill gave out specs for new truck bids. Motion by Nipple, seconded by Blumer
to allow Gill to send out bid packs to dealers for new truck and equipment. Carried.
2023 ROADWORK: Gill said first coat of blacktop has been put on and the county is coming back for a second
coat on Burt Road, Rhyner Road, and Rubens Cave Drive. All other roadwork is complete.
ON CALL PAY: After discussion, a motion by Blumer, seconded by Henderson to increase on call pay from
$30.00 a day to $50.00 a day; and to add $15.00 a day to employees who carry the on call phone when covering
for supervisor. Carried.
STORM SEWER FUND: Gill asked to investigate a storm sewer fund, to be able to pay for repairs to curb,
gutter, and storm sewers when repairs are needed. Other surrounding villages put a fee on utility bills to pay for
repairs. Gill will look into this and bring back to a future meeting.
TRAINING: None at this time.
ANNOUNCEMENTS AND FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS: None at this time.
ADJOURNMENT: Motion by Blumer, seconded by Mauerman to adjourn. Carried.

POLICE, FIRE AND LICENSE COMMITTEE
August 21st, 2023
The regular meeting of the Police, Fire and License Committee was called to order by Chairperson
Bert Hefty at 6:30 p.m. in the Albany Village Hall, 206 North Water Street, Albany, WI. Members
present were: Hefty, Michelle Monson, Fred Johnson, and Chief Ritter. Absent: Dennis Atkinson,
Deanna Hubert, Doug Lawrence and Danny Mueller.
Proof of posting was verified.
MINUTES: Motion by Johnson, seconded by Monson, to approve the minutes of the previous
meeting. Carried.
PUBLIC APPEARANCES: None.
FIRE CHIEF CONCERNS: None.
POLICE CHIEF CONCERNS: Chief Ritter informed committee about a potential new part
time officer. Chief also reported that Riverfest 2023 went well.
FIRE INSEPCTION ORDINANCE §33-3B(3): Postponed to next meeting due to Fire Chief
being absent.
OPERATOR’S LICENSES: Motion by Monson, seconded by Johnson, to approve operator’s
license for Beth Jessie Atkinson. Carried.
ANNOUNCEMENT AND FUTURE ITEMS: Fire Inspection Ordinance.
ADJOURN: Motion by Monson, seconded by Johnson, to adjourn. Carried.
