Plans Commission

PLANS COMMISSION September 4, 2025 The regular meeting of the Plans Commission was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by President Kim Blumer in the Albany Village Hall. Members present were: Blumer, Michelle Monson, Paul Rhyner and Larry Ommodt. Absent: Travis Christen. Also present: Lonnie Gill, Mary Macke and Tim Bartelt. David King arrived at 6:54 p.m. Proof of posting was verified. MINUTES: Motion by Ommodt, seconded by Monson, to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as printed. All ayes. Motion carried. FENCE PLANS: None. CHICKEN PERMITS: None. ANNOUNCEMENTS AND FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS: Nothing. LAND IN BUSINESS PARK: Bartelt was present to discuss their interest regarding the two potential lots in the business park that the village owns; looking at building an office on the lot closest to Highway 59 and then a shop on the longer lot. ADJOURN TO CLOSED SESSION: Motion by Blumer, seconded by Ommodt, to adjourn into closed session. Roll call: Ommodt—yes; Rhyner—yes; Blumer—yes; Monson—yes. All ayes. Motion carried. RECONVENE TO OPEN SESSION: Motion by Rhyner, seconded by Monson, to reconvene to open session. Roll call: Ommodt—yes; Rhyner—yes; Blumer—yes; Monson—yes; King—yes. All ayes. Motion carried. RECOMMENDATIONS FROM CLOSED SESSION: Motion by Monson, seconded by Rhyner, to offer the village land in the business park at $28,000 per acre plus survey costs; the village will remove the black dirt pile prior to purchase. All ayes. Motion carried. Bartelt agrees with the purchase price and would like to move forward. Brewer will work on scheduling the survey and necessary paperwork.
