POLICE, FIRE AND LICENSE COMMITTEE January 25th, 2023 The regular meeting of the Police, Fire and License Committee was called to order by Chairperson Fred Johnson at 6:30 p.m. in the Albany Village Hall, 206 North Water Street, Albany, WI. Members present were: Bert Hefty, Deanna Hubert, Larry Nipple, Fred Johnson, Dennis Atkinson, Chief Ritter and Chief Mueller. Also present were Brooke Helley and Luke Eastwood. Proof of posting was verified. MINUTES: Motion by Nipple, seconded by Hefty, to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. Carried. PUBLIC APPEARANCES: None FIRE CHIEF CONCERNS: Motion by Johnson, seconded by Nipple to approve Danny Mueller as Fire Chief and Justin Mueller as Assistant Fire Chief. Carried. Chief reported that there were 86 fire calls last year. POLICE CHIEF CONCERNS: Police Department received a traffic grant. Grant will be will be used for body and dash cameras for Police Department. Another Grant that was received will be used to update the locks associated with Police Department and Municipal Court. SCHOOL CROSSING: Helley had concerns regarding crosswalk on Water St. and suggested a lighted crosswalk sign. Nipple stated that he would take this request to the Streets Committee next month. FIRE / EMS INCENTIVES: Some discussion. Tabled until next meeting. TRAINING: Nothing. OPERATOR’S LICENSES: Motion by Nipple, seconded by Hefty to approve operator’s licenses for Payton Firth and Doris Rose, contingent on completion of responsible server’s course. Carried.
