POLICE, FIRE AND LICENSE COMMITTEE April 26, 2023 The regular meeting of the Police, Fire and License Committee was called to order by Chairperson Fred Johnson at 6:30 p.m. in the Albany Village Hall, 206 North Water Street, Albany, WI. Members present were: Johnson, Deanna Hubert, Larry Nipple, Bert Hefty, Chief Ritter and Chief Mueller. Absent: Dennis Atkinson and Doug Lawrence. Also present: Brooke Helley and Luke Eastwood. Proof of posting was verified. MINUTES: Motion by Nipple, seconded by Hefty, to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. Carried. PUBLIC APPEARANCES: Helley and Eastwood were present to check the status of the lighted cross walk sign at Water & Main Street; they were informed this item has been moved to the Street & Utility Committee. FIRE CHIEF CONCERNS: Chief Mueller reviewed the audit from the state; the fire inspector needs to increase business inspections. POLICE CHIEF CONCERNS: Chief Ritter reported that a new camera was installed in the squad and may need to update the squad laptop to 64bit. OPERATOR’S LICENSES: None. INCENTIVE PAY: Chief Mueller would like to propose an incentive pay program to encourage better attendance from fireman at fire meetings and trainings. Chief Mueller will drop off a copy of the proposal at the Village Hall ahead of the next board meeting. FIRE INSPECTION ORDINANCE §33-3B(3): Chief Mueller would like to amend the village ordinance to change the business fire inspections from two to one fire inspection annually.
