POLICE, FIRE AND LICENSE COMMITTEE June 25, 2024 The regular meeting of the Police, Fire and License Committee was called to order by Chairperson Fred Johnson at 6:30 p.m. in the Albany Village Hall, 206 North Water Street, Albany, WI. Members present were: Johnson, Deanna Hubert, Denny Atkinson, Fire Chief Justin Mueller and Police Chief Robert Ritter. Absent: Michelle Monson and Doug Lawrence. Also present: Brian Hauri, Brandon Williams, Kimberly Klein and Mark Reidel. Proof of posting was verified. MINUTES: Motion by Hubert, seconded by Atkinson, to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. Carried. PUBLIC APPEARANCES: None. POLICE CHIEF CONCERNS: Chief Ritter reported that one officer just finished the academy on June 4 and the other officer is starting the academy on August 5. DOCUMENT PURGES FOR VILLAGE DEPARTMENTS: Ritter will get pricing and bring to the full village board meeting in August. FIRE CHIEF CONCERNS: Mueller looking into the cost of Lexipol for the fire department policies. FIRE DEPARTMENT INSPECTIONS: Mueller presented some fees, will take to the full board in July. FIRE DEPARTMENT AUTOMATIC AID: Meuller contacted Belleville and is waiting for a response; will contact them again if no return response. FIRE DEPARTMENT BYLAWS: This will be added to the July 2, 2024 Fire Dept meeting. OPERATOR’S LICENSES: The committee did not approve the operator’s licenses, will take to the full board in July. TRAINING: Mass Shooter training in Monroe on July 9, 2024. ANNOUNCEMENT AND FUTURE ITEMS: The committee thanked Deanna Hubert for doing the outside fire sign for thirty years. Mueller has not been able to get in touch with Olivia Otte regarding a SAM number, the village can reach out to her and let her know to contact Mueller. Reidel suggested the Fire Dept conduct a strategic plan with a third-party mediator with a goal of improving their ISP rating and membership. Rescue Cable for dam.
