POLICE, FIRE AND LICENSE July 23, 2024 The regular meeting of the Police, Fire and License Committee was called to order by Chairperson Fred Johnson at 6:30 p.m. in the Albany Village Hall, 206 North Water Street, Albany, WI. Members present were: Johnson, Michelle Monson, Tonya Stephan, Deanna Hubert, Denny Atkinson, Fire Chief Justin Mueller and Police Chief Robert Ritter. Absent: Doug Lawrence. Also present: Kim Blumer, Brian Hauri, Brandon Williams, Luke Eastwood, Brooke Helley, Mark Reidel, Clay Spooner, Abel Schultz & Scott Roth of Albany Township, and Susan Knox. Proof of posting was verified. MINUTES: Motion by Monson, seconded by Hubert, to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. Carried. PUBLIC APPEARANCES: None. POLICE CHIEF CONCERNS: Chief Ritter reported that Clay Spooner will start the academy on August 5 and that the river has been slower due to high water and tubing companies closing due to the water level. Chief Ritter thanked the Fire Department for their assistance on a difficult call. FIRE CHIEF CONCERNS: Chief Mueller is looking into grants for emergency power for the Fire Station. Some discussion on possible tax issues regarding charging for fire calls. Also discussed the need for a water rescue wire for emergency rescues around the dam. FIRE DEPARTMENT SAMS NUMBERS: Chief Mueller is still working on getting the SAMS number from the Federal Government. FIRE DEPARTMENT AUTOMATIC AID: Chief Mueller has reached out to each district and is waiting for them to return the agreements. FIRE DEPARTMENT BYLAWS: Chief Mueller is taking the bylaws to the next Fire Department meeting. OPERATOR’S LICENSES: Motion by Monson, seconded by Stephan, to approve operator’s licenses for Amber Robinson, contingent on responsible server’s course completion, and Tina Kivistad. Carried.
