POLICE, FIRE AND LICENSE COMMITTEE February 25, 2025 The regular meeting of the Police, Fire and License Committee was called to order by Chairperson Fred Johnson at 6:30 p.m. in the Albany Village Hall, 206 North Water Street, Albany, WI. Members present were: Johnson, Michelle Monson, Tonya Stephan, Deanna Hubert, Dennis Atkinson, Scott Roth, Fire Chief Brian Hauri and Police Chief Robert Ritter. Also present: Abel Schultz of Albany Township, Kim Blumer, Justin Eastwood, Ray Thurow, Brandon Williams, Kathy Pennington and Alan Hodkiewicz of Brooklyn Township. Proof of posting was verified. MINUTES: Motion by Monson, seconded by Stephan, to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. Carried. PUBLIC APPEARANCES: None. FIRE CHIEF UPDATES: The Fire Department currently consists of 23 members. Since the January meeting, the department has responded to seven calls and one fire; still working on the strategic planning contract. POLICE CHIEF UPDATES: Ritter reported that Officer Spooner has officially completed field training and will be working on his own. POLICE PORTABLE RADIOS: Motion by Monson, seconded by Stephan, to purchase four handheld radios for officers and two base radios for the squads in the amount of $11,702 with the funds coming out of this year’s police budget. Carried. POLICE COMPUTERS (SQUAD & OFFICE): Motion by Johnson, seconded by Monson, to purchase two new desktop computers for the office, and one Toughbook laptop for the squad in the amount of $5,535 with funds coming from ARPA Funds. Carried. CENTER TAVERN LICENSE APPLICATION / TRANSFER: Motion by Johnson, seconded by Monson, to transfer the licenses presented to Leah Prasch, Center Tavern of Albany, LLC, contingent on the sale of the property. Carried. OPERATOR’S LICENSES: None. ANNOUNCEMENT AND FUTURE ITEMS: Fire Department financial audit. ADJOURN: Motion by Monson, seconded by Hubert, to adjourn. Carried.
