In addition to Plant operations the Algonac Water Department performed: 6 Service Calls for Turn on/off 14 Meter Changes 21 Leak Checks Did you know? The City of Algonac performs quality check on several aspects of your water in accordance to the State mandated testing schedule. We perform test at several places throughout Algonac to ensure water quality in the entire system. These test check for minerals/chemicals such as; lead, copper, PFAS, Nitrates/Nitrites, Gross Alpha, Fluoride, Total Trihalomehtanes, Haloacetic Acids, Sodium, Synthetic Organics, Violatile Organics and Routine Bacteria Checks. All test are performed to ensure you the best quality water and safety at your tap! All the results can be found on the City Website on our Consumer Confidence Report. Submitted by: Denice A. Gerstenberg, City Manager Summary The city attorney has requested that the City Council declare this property a nuisance per City Code Section 34-18 so that enforcement can be initiated in the St. Clair County Circuit Court. The city has conducted multiple code violation investigations of this property since 2018. The city went to court in 2019 and due to ownership and address issues the city needed to restart the enforcement investigation. The city manager can provide an update at the meeting. The property owner has 21 days to abate these violations before the city attorney files in circuit court. Attached is a Resolution for City Council approval. Suggested Action: MOVED BY: SUPPORTED BY: RESOLVED, to approve Resolution #2023-21 and declare 550 Edwards a nuisance within the bounds of Code Section 34-18 and permit the City Attorney to pursue abatement remedies in the St. Clair County Circuit Court.
