Meeting called to order at 8:15 AM
MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Dennis Siry, Deputy Mayor Kevin Smith, Trustee Jessica

The salute to the flag was led by Mayor Siry.
Mayor Siry welcomed everyone to the August 6th Special Meeting of the Board of Trustees,
conducted via Zoom Meeting. He announced the meeting would be a Special Meeting to pay bills.
Mayor’s Actions:
Mayor Siry requested the approval of the Board of Trustees minutes from July 23, 2020
MOTION to APPROVE with corrections was made by Trustee Bernius and seconded by
Trustee Whalen

Mayor Siry requested to appoint David Driscoll to the position of Sergeant for the Amityville
Police Department effective August 4, 2020.

Public Hearing
Call for a public hearing on September 14, 2020 for Introductory Local Law 3 of the year 2020 to
amend Chapter 130 of the Village Code to include residential property maintenance

Deputy Mayor Smith noted that the hanging flower baskets look great in the Village.
Trustee Bernius applauded the Parks Commission for the planters.
Mayor Siry gave a shout out to Department of Public Works for getting the trees and debris from
Tropical Storm Isaias cleared. While there are still a couple of areas still without power, more
houses are regaining electricity. Over 386,000 were without power in the storm and more than
200,000 have been restored. PSEG is aiming to get power to all by end of day Saturday.
Trustee Bernius asked about establishing charging stations, to which Mayor Siry said he would be
purchasing power strips for the public to use at the main Fire House and at Village Hall.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:26 a.m.
