Meeting called to order at 7:30 p.m.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Dennis Siry, Deputy Mayor Smith, Trustee Whalen, Trustee O’Neill,
Trustee Brooks

Mayor Siry welcomed everyone to the meeting and invited Chief Burton to conduct the Pledge of
Allegiance. He then called for a moment of silence for the people of Ukraine due to the Russian attacks.
Mayor Siry then invited Deputy Mayor Smith to share any good news.
Deputy Mayor Smith noted that the 2022 Mayor’s Social will be held on March 6th, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at
Unqua Corinthian Yacht Club. All are invited. He announced that the Village Tax Sale would take place
on March 11th, at 10 a.m., at Village Hall; St. Martin’s School will hold its annual Fashion Show
fundraiser on April 7th, and this year the school celebrates its 100th year in education. The Little League
Parade will be on April 23rd at 10:30 a.m. from Park Ave School to the Louden Ave. ballfield.
Mayor Siry also announced that the DRI grant Committee information is on the website,
AmityvilleDRI.com. There will be a virtual Meeting of the DRI Local Planning Committee and
community on March 22nd at 7 p.m. Please join in and tell your friends/neighbors and voice your opinion
of what you would like to see in the Village.

Public Hearing
Conduct a Public Hearing for Introductory Local Law No. 2 of the year 2022 to ratify the
establishment of a transit-oriented zoning district (SEE ATTACHMENT A.) and Introductory Local
Law No. 3 of the year 2022 to ratify the change of zoning for 124 Greene Avenue and 235 County Line
Road, Amityville, NY to the Transit-Oriented (TO) District (SEE ATTACHMENT B)
Mayor Siry explained that the two proposed laws on the agenda (ILL No. 2 and 3 of 2022) were voted
upon previously but had not been filed with the State. He added that an intensive SEQRA review was
done on the Village by the Bay property and the Village came to a negative declaration.

Public Comments
Joan Donnison, 150 S. Ketcham Avenue, Amityville, expressed concern that Long Island Youth Club
would be fundraising on New Year’s Eve. Mayor Siry noted that with the early sunset in January, they
should be stopping by 4 p.m. or 4:30 p.m.
She also asked whether the Public Meeting for the Downtown Revitalization Initiative will be in person
or virtual, to which Mayor Siry advised the first meeting will be virtual.
