Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes September 26, 2022 Meeting called to order at 7:30 p.m. MEMBERS PRESENT: Deputy Mayor Kevin Smith, Trustee Michael O’Neill, Trustee Owen E. Brooks, Jr. MEMBERS ABSENT: Mayor Dennis Siry, Trustee Tom Whalen ALSO PRESENT: Village Attorney Bruce Kennedy APD Chief Bryan Burton Building Inspector Michael Breitweg DPW Foreman Gary Juehrs Catherine C. Murdock, Clerk/Treasurer Assistant to the Mayor Wendy O’Neill Deputy Mayor Smith welcomed everyone to the Special Board of Trustees Meeting and asked Chief Burton to lead the Pledge of Allegiance. He announced that Mayor Siry and Trustee Whalen were unable attend due to reasons beyond their control. If anyone has an application or request on the agenda and wishes to be heard by the full Board, they have the option of deferring their request until the next meeting. The Board agreed this was prudent. Fale, Superintendent of Schools, for Amityville Memorial High School to conduct its Homecoming Parade on Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., with a planned route from Amityville LIRR station to the high school (Assemble at Railroad Ave., proceeding north on John St., east on Sterling Pl., south on Broadway, east on Avon Pl. and south on Lake Drive to the high school.) John Andriella, PBA Secretary, for permission to park its 5 x 8-foot mobile trailer in one parking staff in the rear parking lot of Police Headquarters MOTION to APPROVE was made by Trustee O’Neill and seconded by Trustee Brooks Vote on Motion: Deputy Mayor Smith aye Trustee O’Neill aye Trustee Brooks aye Motion Carried: 3 ayes 0 nays Request from P.O. John Andriella, PBA Secretary, for permission to commence with the accrued sick “bank” as per the recently ratified MOA signed on 09/13/2022 and formally request that Officer Eickelberg be permitted to begin using accrued sick leave bank for a catastrophic hardship. Ten officers have donated 12 hours each toward the bank thus far. Smith Ragamuffin parade will be on Saturday, Oct. 22nd at 10 a.m. (rain date Sunday). The parade lines up on Broadway at Railroad Ave. and ends at the Park Ave. School lot on Ireland Pl. • The PBA Boat Parade is on November 12 at 5:30 pm with a fundraiser to follow at Unqua Corinthian Yacht Club. It will help offset medical expenses for the Eickelberg family. • The Village Tree lighting will be held on Saturday, Dec. 3rd at 5 pm.
