MINUTES ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION July 12, 2018 PUBLIC HEARING / MEETING Ms. Hobbs made a motion to approve Resolution 4:30 p.m. EDC13-18 for Prairie Creek Nursery and Garden, Conference Room #1 3830 MLK Blvd. Mr. Reed seconded. Motion passed 120 East 8th Street unanimously; 3 yes, 0 no. Anderson, IN 46016 EDC12-18 Resolution Recommending Tax MEMBERS PRESENT Lance Stephenson, Vice President Abatement for Bridgenorth Homes – 3215 Roger Reed, Member Philly Way Lisa Hobbs, Member Ms. Soetenga briefed Commission Members on Resolution EDC12-18 residential tax abatement for STAFF PRESENT Bridgenorth Homes, 3215 Philly Way. Ms. Soetenga Karen Soetenga, ED Staff stated the address is located in the Appledowns OTHERS PRESENT Addition, Lot 31 and improvements to the property Jim West, 3 Rusty Nails will be at an estimated cost of $229,335. The Mr. and Mrs. Sprague, Prairie Creek Nursery request is for a three-year tax abatement and Mike Leslie, Bridgenorth Homes construction will commence before December 31, 2018, for a single-family dwelling intended for human ROLL CALL AND DECLARATION OF habitation. Mr. Leslie from Bridgenorth Homes was QUORUM introduced. Brief discussion followed. Mr. Stephenson called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m. and declared a quorum with three (3) Mr. Reed made a motion to approve Resolution members in attendance. EDC12-18 for Bridgenorth Homes, 3215 Philly Way. MINUTES Ms. Hobbs seconded. Motion passed unanimously; Mr. Stephenson called for the minutes of June 14, 3 yes, 0 no. 2018 to be approved. Mr. Reed made a motion to approve June 14, 2018 minutes and Ms. Hobbs Brief discussion followed. seconded. This motion passed unanimously; 3 yes, 0 no. ADJOURNMENT Ms. Hobbs made a motion to adjourn and Mr. NEW BUSINESS Stephenson seconded. Meeting was adjourned at EDC13-18 Resolution Recommending 4:38 p.m. Commercial Tax Abatement for Prairie Creek Nursery and Garden, Inc. – 3830 MLK Blvd. Ms. Soetenga briefed Commission Members on Resolution EDC13-18 commercial tax abatement for Prairie Creek Nursery and Garden, 3830 MLK Blvd. The project consists of 3,000 square feet of retail space totaling $90,900 investment with 2-3 jobs at $10-15.00 per hour. Mr. West, 3 Rusty Nails, was introduced. Mr. West stated the retail store will move to the new building and the current facility will be turned into an event center. Craft shows will be held at the existing building, as well. Brief discussion followed. Ms. Soetenga stated Mr. West is purchasing the property on contract and introduced Mr. and Mrs. Sprague, owner of Prairie Creek Nursery and Garden.
