Linda Diane Feldt called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in the Guy
C.Larcom, Jr. Building, 2nd Floor Council Chambers, 301 E. Huron
Street.

Kayla Coleman called the roll.
Non-voting Commission members: Sergeant Bill Clock, Eli Cooper,
Steve Dolen, Raymond Hess as an alternate for Luke Liu, Howard
Lazarus

A motion was made by Gordon, seconded by Trudeau, that the
Agenda be Approved. On a voice vote, the Chair declared the
motion carried.

18-1238 Transportation Commission Meeting Minutes 6-20-18
A motion was made by Naheedy, seconded by Gordon, that the
Minutes be Approved by the Commission and forwarded to the City
Council and should be returned by 8/9/2018. On a voice vote, the
Chair declared the motion carried.
INFORMATION AND DISCUSSION
Connected Transportation Environment - Presentation and Q&A (DR. JAMES SAYER - University of
Michigan Transportation Research Institute)(30 MINUTES)
Due to an illness Dr. Sayer was not able to present at the Commission
meeting on 7/18/18. Staff will coordinate with Dr. Sayer to seek an
alternate meeting for presentation.

First & Ashley and William Street Presentation (SUSAN POLLAY - DDA)
Susan Pollay (DDA) and Oliver Kiley (SmithGroupJJR) provided a
presentation of the project.

A motion was made by Trudeau, seconded by Gordon, that the
Resolution of Support for Key First & Ashley and William Street
Transportation Concepts be Approved by the Commission and
forwarded to the City Council and should be returned by 8/9/2018.
On a voice vote, the Chair declared the motion carried.
Introduction: Executive Policy Advisor for Neighborhood Engagement/Transportation Safety (HOWARD
LAZARUS/ERICA BRIGGS)(5 MINUTES)
Howard Lazarus introduced Erica Briggs' role as the Executive Policy
Advisor for Neighborhood Engagement/Transportation Safety.
Erica Briggs spoke about her background and new role.

A motion was made by Boland, seconded by Councilmember
Ackerman, that the Resolution to Support Vision Zero Related
Activities be Approved by the Commission and forwarded to the
City Council and should be returned by 8/23/2018. On a voice vote,
the Chair declared the motion carried.

Traffic Calming Task Force Report and Task Force Member Appointments (BRADLEY
PARSONS/LINDA DIANE FELDT)
Bradley Parsons and Councilmember Ackerman provided an update on
the Task Force work completed to date.
Community member appointments to the Traffic Calming Task Force:
- Jared Hoffert
- Patti Smith
A motion was made by Parsons, seconded by Councilmember
Ackerman, that the community member appointments to the Traffic
Calming Task Force be Approved. On a voice vote, the Chair
declared the motion carried.
