Linda Diane Feldt called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in the Guy C.
Larcom, Jr. Building, 2nd Floor Council Chambers, 301 E. Huron Street.

Kayla Coleman called the roll.
Non-voting Commission members: Sergeant Bill Clock, Steve Dolen,
Raymond Hess, Howard Lazarus
Non-voting Commission members absent: Liz Margolis, Matt Webb

APPROVAL OF AGENDA (LINDA DIANE FELDT)
A motion was made by Gordon, seconded by Trudeau, that the
Agenda be Approved. On a unanimous voice vote, the Chair
declared the motion carried.

A motion was made by Parsons, seconded by Boland, that the
Minutes be Approved by the Commission and forwarded to the City
Council and should be returned by 12/17/2018. On a unanimous
voice vote, the Chair declared the motion carried.
INFORMATION AND DISCUSSION
Hoover (Main to State)(CHRIS WALL)
Commissioner questions and comments included:
- Treeline implementation
- Narrow travel lane width to slow traffic
- Raised intersection to slow traffic
- Engage with prospective development and UM - avoid utility cuts to new
road
- Look for creative options, e.g. DDA projects Toole Design Group

Ann Arbor Bike Share (CHRIS SIMMONS (AAATA) AND SHIFT TRANSIT)
Commissioner questions and comments included:
- Tricycle, e-bike, and other special needs accomodations
- Location of existing and future bike docking stations
- Bike dock locations in areas of limited mobility
- Support for year round operations
- Support for expanded service hours
- Data sharing
- Optimize number of stations for the comunity size

- Interst in providing the report to City Council
18-1889 Changing Driver Behavior Study

Commissioner questions and comments included:
- Concern about decision making process
- Disappointment in keeping on-street parking to benefit a few in lieu of an
improved bicycle corridor for the community
- Weighting methodology?
- Concerns that the concepts split pro-cyclist folks among different
concepts, while anti-cycling/pro-parking folks united around one concept
- This is paint on the ground; could be changed in the future
- Disappointed in the lack of political will to improve the transportation
network

2019 Transportation Commission Calendar be Approved. On a

18-1876 Transportation Project Updates November 2018
Commission comments and questions included:
- Request for Fuller crosswalk meeting materials and Road Safety Audit
to be available online
- Discussion of Fuller crosswalk project: student feedback and options
- Pavement markings on Pauline
- Light pollution as a criterion considered for crosswalk lighting
- Interest in Transportation Commission exploring lighting for public
ROW (Planning Commission looking at private property)
