Linda Diane Feldt called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in the Guy C.
Larcom, Jr. Building, 2nd Floor Council Chambers, 301 E. Huron Street.

A motion was made by Parsons, seconded by Trudeau, that the
Consent Agenda be Approved by the Commission and the minutes
forwarded to the City Council and should be returned by 5/20/2019.
On a unanimous voice vote, the Chair declared the motion carried.

19-0766 FY2019-20 Major Street Projects Requested for Review
A motion was made by Boland, seconded by Councilmember
Griswold, that the FY19-20 Major Street Projects Requested for
Review be Approved. On a unanimous voice vote, the Chair
declared the motion carried.
Six Es - Commissioner Assignments (LINDA DIANE FELDT)
Commissioner questions and comments included:
- Integration of Six Es into future agenda.
- Pedestrian crash data: left turns; race and social class.
- Equity: modes of transportation, demographics of infrastructure
investment.
- Interest in more information about TheRide (AAATA) service limitations.
- Effectiveness of electronic radar speed signs.
- Interest in focus on short term reccomendations/ obstacles.
- Discussion of next steps: sub-group to further explore? resolution
specifically identifying staff requests for all Es?
19-0770 Six Es Exercise: Commissioner Reports

Crosswalk Ordinance (LINDA DIANE FELDT)
Commissioner questions and comments included:
- Counilmember intentions to withdraw resolution for local crosswalk
ordinance revision.
- Interest in re-affirming the existing local crosswalk ordinance.
- Interest in further discussion of State of Michigan crosswalk law, and
impacts to local ordinance.
- Discussion of Legislative Service Bureau process
19-0773 Crosswalk Ordinance - Background Materials and Proposed Ordinance
Revision
A motion was made by Gordon, seconded by Kleinman, that City
Council maintain the Crosswalk Ordinance in its current iteration
based on the review and discussion of the ordinance that the
City of Ann Arbor Page 3

Commission has had. The Commission action will be forwarded to
the City Council and should be returned by 5/6/2019. On a voice
vote, the Chair declared the motion carried. Nay vote by
Councilmember Griswold.
State of Michigan Crosswalk Law
A motion was made by Kleinman, seconded by Councilmember
Griswold, to discuss and take action on the State of Michigan
Crosswalk law at the May 15, 2019 Transportation Commission
meeting. On a unanimous voice vote, the Chair declared the motion
carried.
FY20 Budget Presentation and other Administrator Updates (HOWARD LAZARUS)
Commissioner questions and comments included:
- Interpretation of pedestrian crosswalk improvements budget - what's
included? what does that buy us?
- Discussion of bike infrastructure budget
- Council action on DDA - William Street Bikeway
- Appreciation for KPIs and dashboard to make budget publicly
accessible

A motion was made by Councilmember Griswold, seconded by
Trudeau, that the Resolution be Approved by the Commission and
forwarded to the City Council and should be returned by 5/6/2019.
On a unanimous voice vote, the Chair declared the motion carried.
