On a unanimous voice vote, the Chair declared the motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENT (MOLLY KLEINMAN) Charnetski - ADA anniversary, updates, and work in progress INFORMATION AND DISCUSSION TheRide/AAATA Service Restoration Plans (BRYAN SMITH) Commissioner questions and comments included: • Public feedback-informed changes • Flexride: what to expect/how to ride, COVID-19 safety protocol • Contactless payment options 20-1243 TheRide/AAATA Service Restoration Plans Received and Filed BUSINESS Capital Improvements Plan (CIP) Prioritization Update (BRET HAUTAUMAKI) No commissioner questions or comments. Capital Improvements Plan (CIP) Recommendations (BRET HAUTAUMAKI & MOLLY KLEINMAN) Commissioner questions and comments included: • Bicycle infrastructure language • Elmwood Blvd., Washington Blvd. recommendations • Healthy Streets downtown dining • Midblock crosswalk positive contrast lighting 20-1245 Capital Improvements Plan (CIP) Recommendations A motion was made by Boland, seconded by Smith, that the CIP Recommendations be Approved as amended by the Commission City of Ann Arbor Page 2 Transportation Commission Meeting Minutes August 19, 2020 and Forwarded to staff and the City Planning Commission and should be returned by 10/6/2020. On a unanimous voice vote, the Chair declared the motion carried. Chapter 40 Trees and Vegetation Ordinance (COUNCILMEMBER GRISWOLD) 20-1246 Chapter 40 Trees and Vegetation Ordinance Commissioner questions and comments included: • Private property vs. right-of-way height • Simplification and safety • Additional Commission input: Environmental; Disability Issues • Necessity/purpose of revisions A motion was made by Councilmember Griswold, seconded by Hautamaki, that the Transportation Commission recommends that City Council refer the Ordinance to Amend Sections 3:16 and 3:17 of Chapter 40 (Trees and Other Vegetation) of Title III of the Code of the City of Ann Arbor to the Environmental Commission for consideration, and should be returned by 9/8/2020. On a voice vote, the Chair declared the motion carried with a no vote made by Feldt. Fernwood Avenue Traffic Calming Update (KAYLA COLEMAN) Commissioner questions and comments included: • Financial implementations, budget history and sufficiency Fernwood Avenue Traffic Calming Resolution (MOLLY KLEINMAN) 20-1247 Fernwood Avenue Traffic Calming Resolution A motion was made by Hautamaki, seconded by Boland, that the Transportation Commission recommends that City Council approve the Resolution to Approve the Installation of Traffic Calming Devices on Fernwood. The Commission action will be forwarded to the City Council and should be returned by 9/8/2020. On a voice vote, the Chair declared the motion carried.
