Deputy Chief Simmons offered an report on the grant. Alderman Arnett asked follow up
questions regarding the grant.
Alderman Paone moved to approve. Seconded. CARRIED on voice vote.

GA-19-15 FY2014 Urban Area Security Grant Program (UASI)

Director of Finance Miller offered an report on the budget transfers. Alderman Paone
asked questions of Mr. Miller. Alderman Budge spoke on the issues facing the Bus
Shelters Program.
Alderwomen Finlayson asked for a presentation or document addressing the plans for the
bus shelters.
City Manager Andrews addressed her concerns, and agreed to provide the document.
Alderman Arnett moved to approve. Seconded. CARRIED on voice vote.

ID-369-14 Police Department Budget Update
Chief of Police Pristoop offered an update on the police department budget. Alderman
Arnett spoke on the City's overtime budget.
Alderwomen Finlayson spoke on funding as it relates to overtime. Finance Director Miller
offers an explanation on the 230,000 Police Department budget shortfall.
ID-379-14 Deputy Positions
Finance Director Miller offered a report on moving contract employees to a full time
employee category. Alderman Arnett spoke on the Deputy Positions.

Assistant City Attorney Elson offered n report on Castlegate Drive.
Alderman Arnett spoke regarding his concerns on cost to the city.
Alderman Arnett questions if the Bicycle & Pedestrian or Sidewalk plans have been
considered. Alderman Budge suggest that if this turns into an ordinance that it be
recommended to the Transportation Advisory Board.
Mr. Elson states that the city will retain an appraiser.

R-32-14 Considering the Acquisition of Land and Improvements Located at 110
Compromise Street - For the purpose of expressing the sense of the
Annapolis City Council’s consideration of acquiring the land and improvements
located at 110 Compromise Street for a purchase price of $4,500,000.

wants to wait for more information before taking a vote.

O-10-14 Legal Counsel to Board of Supervisors of Elections - For the purpose of
authorizing the Board of Supervisors of Elections to engage outside legal
counsel during specified periods of time in the municipal election cycle.

Assistant City Attorney Elson spoke on the requested amendments to the legislation.
Finance Director Miller spoke on his concerns regarding establishing a revolving fund for
accounting purposes. Alderman Budge submitted a copy of his amendments.

Mr. Miller is supportive of the budge amendment with a few minor changes.
